Kind of hard to see Steve. The lume plots on the 9, 10 & 11 appear to be rougher than the others and the text for "Submariner" seems crooked, but that could just be distortion from the acrylic. Also, I've never seen an "S" like that in Submariner - kind of looks like a backwards Z - but I'm no expert on vintage fonts.

I just don't know enough to to chime in. What might look bad to me, might be a prized characteristic to a seasoned collector.

Thanks for the comments guys, not sure about this one What's bothering you on this one Steve? You know much more than I do on vintage models and I'd love to get your perspective on what element is making you hesitate.

The dial appears too nice, but I think it's legit. The price is pretty good which is another reason. I may just ask for more photos before I decide.

Follow your instinct, Steve. I'm not much help when it comes to vintage pieces either but know you'll make the right decision in the end.

I'm with Roger on this one. What makes you hesitate? Not knowing enough about vintage, I would likely hesitate myself. If it is the real thing, I find it a most appealing piece. The patina is absolutely perfect. Long as it's up and running well, it would be great to wear just as is. I will be very interested to see how you make out with it.

Nice watch, cased like a sub but folks are getting stupid money for these. If you're a flipper and can find one with the right price, go for it as it probably will rise.
