There you go. I bet you'll be less likely to get those hidden ones often missed since the strap won't have any on there.

I could actually see myself doing that too. This incoming sort of has me looking at 18K watches for the future!

That's completely understandable, Chip. My guess is you'll feel this way for quite some time. Have you had a two-tone watch before? Either way it's nothing in comparison to the first (full) precious metal piece.

Wow that's just stunning..Congratulations once again! Can you elaborate/explain how the clasp and strap are joined? Is it cut to fit? Is it comfortable?

Chip can give full details, but it has some type of Ti core and a channel on the underside to let air flow through and keep you from sweating too much. The one I tried on in Vegas was very comfortable - felt solid and well made. EDIT: I found this article on the strap - pretty amazing engineering. www.hodinkee.com/articles/rolex-yachtmaster-review

Thank you very much, to all of you.
I absolutely love it. Stupid purchase or not, I'll enjoy the heck out of it.
This really was my Grail.

It's the first and only PM watch I've tried on other than an ALS that I loved. The black bezel and strap help play down the PM element so it's now over the top PM on the wrist, and the matte bezel and dial take down the shiny parts to make it more subtle too. It is probably my favorite Rolex in their current lineup - many congrats Chip.

The way I see it, life's too short! Live it to the fullest and get to experience the pride of ownership that comes with a grail piece.
It's also a long way off for me but having something to aspire to owning one day helps keep me focused and motivated.
The one hobby I'll stick with for life would be watches. Like most here I've been obsessed since childhood and ot only got worse with age.
Previous hobbies I've had when younger still managed to consume thousands upon thousands of dollars, leaving you with little to show for it or the ability to recover any of the money spent.
In your shoes I would have done the same thing in a heart beat. And Al, I'm willing to bet you'll end up with one before you know it!
