Yup...Panerai time
It was about 3.30 in the afternoon, I was bored, so I thought I'd do my semi-annual phone around the Panerai AD's here in Australia... all 3/4 of them. I called up a new store on the Gold Coast, not expecting them to even stock anything yet, and asked what base models they had in stock, totally willing to settle for a 005/000, but really wanting a 112....
His reply.. "Yes, sure, we've got a 112. Do you want it?" (insert stunned silence from me). Do I? Of course!
So.... I raced of to the bank with about 5 minutes untill it closed, got the cash, then drove ..uhh... carefully for 2 hours to the Gold Coast, to the Hour Glass, to pick it up!
So, I hopped in my car....
... and took a photo of what was parked in front of me
The weather was pretty gloomy and rainy, which made for some interesting skies.
Been driving for a while now...
...time to fuel up!
Getting soo close now!
My parking spot had a good view.
Wow... total journey time, not too bad in peak-hour traffic...
So, the deed was done, I had a big hunk o' stainless strapped to my wrist. Kevin from the Hour Glass was a joy to deal with, top guy!
Now, time to head home!
Home again, but it got dark, and the rain set in.... i just love driving through my city in the rain. So, some random pics here....
another sort of....'AD'
Thanks for taking the journey with me guys, I'm so glad to finally have this one! In a place where they're not really easy to come by at all.
Proper watch shots will follow later this evening
