I just decided to have a look at the Omega site to see what was on for the upcoming Olympic games in Rio. The "limited edition" watches The Postcard Omega house Some history More history Now for the Ambassadors Sergio Garcia Jessica Ennis-Hill Chad Le Clos Michael Phelps The MSRP of the new watches isn't on the site yet but I'm interested to see what it works out to in Canadian dollars. Based on the latest report this marketing campaign seems to be coming up short for the many reasons mentioned in that specific topic.

Nothing there that grabs my attention. The bronze, silver & gold around the subdials are the least offensive colour scheme...

That crossed my mind too. Luckily those are "limited" because most out there might tend to agree. Although neat for some during the games I can't see myself ever wanting the Olympic ring colours on my watch bezel.

I saw the Mark II LE and quite liked it, although the model I had with the regular subdials I like better. They introduced is actually about a year ago. Unfortunately, the put PCLs on the bracelet, which is not an improvement IMO. The bracelet on that watch is definitely one of the finer features, and they spoiled it. The one I like the least was the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics model. Not very popular, and I believe there are still some new ones available after all this time: I am personally finding it quite sad, the relatively unsuccessful road Omega is taking. Simply trying too hard to be something they are not, and never were. As most of you know, it was a brand that I took a lot of pride in for various reasons. A shame they just don't know when to stop. They used to have a lot of very fine ADs, including my favourite here in Vancouver, Time & Gold. I was very upset when they took their authorization away, simply because they were not " high end " enough. That is years ago now, even before the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, and I should have seen the writing on the wall then. IMO they simply do not have what it takes to compete in the type of market they are so desperately trying for.
