Interesting story about the origins of this watch: I had posted a pic on WUS on the WRUW thread on the GS Forum. A guy responded by saying that he missed his. I noticed his location is London, Eng. And the papers for my GS show the original purchase in Derbyshire, Eng.
I know there are not many GS dealers in UK, and none in London. So, I responded to his post by saying that it would be a coincidence if he was the original owner of the watch I just bought. Sure enough, it is a real small world. Anyway, it's nice to know a bit of the history of the watch, and now know who the original owner is.

That's so cool. Does he know how it made it's way to Timeless?

That's so cool. Does he know how it made it's way to Timeless? Haven't gotten that far yet, although we have exchanged a couple of PMs. I have a feeling he may have either traded it or sold it to Timeless, as he is curious about how much I paid for it.

What you paid is between you and Timeless. I would not divulge that.

What you paid is between you and Timeless. I would not divulge that. The original owner had the watch on consignment with Timeless. He already mentioned that he has had an email from Dan about what the watch sold for, and the amount he will receive after commission. I might actually do the same with my Automatic and Hi-Beat. Timeless only takes 20% commission, which in this day and age is more than fair. The local watchmaker, with whom I have sold on consignment, takes 20% as well, that's why I have gone with them before. A lot of places are up to 50% in commission. I would go locally, except that they only sell Swiss made watches.

Email Dan, or I'll ask him if you'd like to.

Yeah, that sounds like a great place to consider having it sold!

Well, it seems like this watch attracts a lot of attention! First time, this evening, I have worn it for more than a couple of hours. Went out to a local brew pub for beers and grub. A guy on the bus kept looking at the watch, then when I met up with my buddy he noticed I had a new watch. He never notices anything like that. The only watch I ever remembering him wearing is a Levi branded quartz watch he got on sale for 15 bucks. If I die before he does, he wants the watch! And the waitress kept eyeing it throughout our visit. Kind of weird, like she was coming in closer to me for a glimpse of it. Then the guy at the next table couldn't keep his eyes off it for a while.
I have never had this kind of experience with any watch I have owned, and there have been some pretty nice ones! I suppose if I was out and saw someone wearing this watch, I would tend to take a long look as well.

The profile of that crystal is so nice. I really like when they pop up a bit like that. Years ago I had no clue Seiko made such incredible watches.
