Well, it just a matter of taste I think. But that's a good Seiko.

Nice Speedmaster bracelet. My thoughts exactly. Hands suck donkey balls too. For a GS, I find it somewhat disappointing.

Overall, a handsome watch, but I don't care for the hands. It looks almost like they swiped a hand from a Planet Ocean and then squashed a Submariner hand and put them together.
As for pricing? Who knows? I think pricing has gotten very silly, overall, for most mass-production watches. But, if the quality is as good as the Seiko SD I got from Chip on our exchange program, I don't see much wrong with the pricing (if one could swing a 25-30% discount on MSRP that you can get on most watches).
Though, if Seiko wants to market upscale watches to the "west" they need to tailor their marketing to bring their image on par with the big Swiss houses. Having the same quality isn't always enough. It's also perception. Seiko needs to give Lexus a call and get some pointers in how to get your brand name on par with the big European brands.

It's a rather strange looking watch, as mentioned the hands look weird. At 6grand that seems outrageous!
How do they come up with these prices tho? The mind boggles.....

At 6grand that seems outrageous! How do they come up with these prices tho? The mind boggles..... 11 people make those virtually by hand, at a rate of just a few hundreds per year. IF you look at the price from that angle, Rolex, Omega and all others start to become the outrageous ones. However... Like Ben said: They should learn a thing or two from Toyota and Nissan before they market that stuff here. Although... they have no problems selling like hot cakes in Japan, this watch's only market at the moment.

Hmmm... sorry, I don't like it either...
The hands are way too wide, for what I'm guessing is a 42mm watch. And that big chunky-toothed bezel looks like a truck wheel.
Shame really, as they really are a well constructed watch.
