Hi!
This upcoming christmas I thought it would be fitting to make something special for sisters, parents and grandparents. My plan is to make watches for them, but since I feel I am only capabale of making the caseing I need to buy the movements. This is why I am here. I feel that I have no idea what to look for all I know is that I want something reliable and it to be as thin as possible to make space for a custom face made out of bismuth crystal and steel. Any suggestions? Regarding price I say 25-30 bucks per movement max.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Man... that's a low price for a movement, which means you would have to go with something Asian.
Mind you, Miyota and Seagull both make great movements, and some will likely be in that range.
Thin equals expensive, so you might have to compromise a little.

Agreed. The movement for my Seiko monster was around $25, but it's not thin.

As you said it looks like I have to spend a quite a bit more if I want mechanical movements. However, I have also noticed that quartz movements are priced quite a bit lower, a mechanical watch is timeless and way cooler though. When it comes to actually buying a movement where should I go? And where should I get the sapphire glass for the front?
