Since I have such a good relationship with my AD, I was thinking of buying the Rolex ceramic Daytona. What price can I get if I sell it new. Then I can sell my Rolex Submariner-Date for around $9,800.00. Then I will not take a loss. The price I paid for the Two Tone was $10,720.00. I just got an offer of $9,500.00 on watchuseek, but I think he was pulling my leg, a real scam artist. The one I want is the Rolex Style No: 116500 in stainless steel.

Of the two I'm not sure which one is more sought after. For me personally I like the black dial (well did more so for the discontinued version) so it would get my vote. For collectors that want variety it seems like a lot would want the white dial. I guess flip a coin to decide basically if you'll put it aside and sell later, total win-win.

I just want to flip it right away to make an easy few thousand dollars.

Chances are you'll easily be able to. What's the MSRP in USD? It's $14,250.00 CAD. As of today with the exchange rate the $17,995.00 USD most sellers are asking BNIB (or in that range) comes out to $23,000.00 CAD. With the incredibly low supply and a large market there I'm sure you'll be able to turn a profit since it's working out to nearly double the Canadian MSRP from trusted sellers and even more from local watch sellers (brick and mortar). Insane to think that just a few years ago with the old version a Daytona was about $10,000.00 USD! Honestly, in your shoes I would totally do it. Those gains can be used towards the Platinum watch if you still wish to get it. If I was able to I totally would for the 116718LN!

Man, if you listed a BNIB (black or white dial) on various forums for $16,000.00 USD delivered it would sell in a heartbeat! That's still $2,000 less than other sellers so sounds good.

My AD just got the white dial ceramic Daytona in. She told me a guy came in with $4,000.00 in cash above retail price, but she sold it to me for $12,435.00 delivered via registered mail USPS. I'm mailing out the check on Monday, she should receive the check on the east coast by Thursday. I'm going to try and flip it for $19,500.00. What do you guys think? She is sending me everything that Rolex sent her with the watch. I should receive the watch in about two weeks.

However, you’re not terribly far off. You will certainly make a profit, if that’s what you’re after.

My AD said this watch is so hot it isn't funny. She said she had a long list of people that wanted this watch, and willing to pay way over retail for it. She said people were climbing all over each other for it. She sold it to me because I am her number one earner for her business, I sent her lots of clients throughout the years.
