This is probably my favorite Speedmaster model of the lot right now. Even though not normally a blue watch guy, I just find everything about this model is stunning. From the Omega website: " The original OMEGA CK2998 was released in 1959 and has since become one of the most sought-after vintage Speedmasters in the world. Today, OMEGA has used this classic model as inspiration for the new OMEGA Speedmaster “CK2998” Limited Edition – an updated model for a new generation of fans. For the chronograph seconds hand, OMEGA has reintroduced the “lollipop” style which is linked to the original model. This, along with the hour and minute hands and tachymeter base scale on the bezel, is coated in Super-LumiNova for increased visibility in dark conditions. In a rare move, the original Speedmaster Seahorse medallion has been reintroduced and embossed on the screw-in caseback. " www.omegawatches.com/watches/speedmaster/moonwatch/speedmaster-ck2998-limited-edition/product/This would be a great watch to find under the Christmas tree! Merry Christmas! Carl

I could do without the lollipop chrono hand but yeah that one is hot. Every time I’m scrolling WatchRecon and see one, I stop and look. The blue really is a beautiful shade in the photos and I like the way they used it on both the chapter ring and subdials.

It's a great one, no doubt! One of the most sought after / popular Speedmaster models I can think of!

I really like the lollipop second hand actually, although perhaps a bit "cartoonish" for the model. But, as it says, it's linked to the original model.
Always been a fan of the FOIS. The black dial numbered model (non LE) is a favorite also.

You’re right, that would be nice to find under the tree. Heck any watch under the tree would be nice. It’s nice to see you excited by Omega again.
I love the colour combo and don’t mind the lollipop hand. What I’d rather see is the straight baton hands though. I know these hands have historical relevance but I’m not a fan of them. Did they have one at the boutique or are they sold out now?

I know they always seem to have a FOIS on hand, but this LE model I don't know. I will be back there in a few days anyway, and will ask about it. Would love to see one in real life.

Just found out it was last years model and long sold out. Damn! I was quite disappointed when I learned at the Boutique that it is completely sold out. Mind you, I haven't been paying much attention to Omega for a year or so, except for the Railmaster. While I was at it, though, I did take a good look at the FOIS, both stainless steel and red gold. They are both stunning as well, and not LE. If I had got the FOIS in the first place, I would likely still own a Speedy. That watch is really worth looking at, if you haven't already seen it.

Although a bit sad, I'm thrilled to see Omega finally starting to understand the concept of a LIMITED piece. The one limited edition Speedmaster I would jump on, no matter the cost, would be this one: Soyuz Speedmaster Meteorite Dial Source on image From - perpetuelle-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com From - perpetuelle-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com Image from Google The ck2998 is also a watch worthy of this in my opinion. Under 3,000 pieces for a global market seems ideal vs the 10,007 and other quantities they've pumped out numerous times. Now all they've got to do is make less "limited" editions and they're set!

Speaking of LEs, I still want a Snoopy badly! I’ve invested in Canadian cannabis stocks and if they keep going like they have been, I might just use the profits to buy one later this year.

Baco Noir I'm certain you'll be able to! California going ahead today, many states to follow suit shortly, and Canada this coming summer in July I believe. APH.TO, LEAF.TO, HMMJ.TO have all been doing well. Many others too so my fingers are crossed for the Snoopy! The Snoopy is yet another limited edition Speedmaster TOTALLY worth it. They've had far too many but the three aforementioned pieces alone make up for this.

I bought about $15k of Aurora Cannabis, Medreleaf, and Canopy Growth about 2 weeks ago and am hoping it keeps rising.

Those are some good choices. Big gains to come in 2018 with the changes taking place and holding onto those at least until past July should be a recipe for Snoopy! Now they hardest part of all this will be sourcing one but I'm confident you'll get one. With limited editions eBay is often the best method and with the protections in place (if one also buys the seller) it's simple. In fact, it's how I'm planning to source the Planet Ocean Chronograph when ever I'm ready. You've wanted the Snoopy for a while so it'll be a wonderful day when it does come!
