Saw this on the Watchville site and thought I’d share. While I thought I’d know some of these facts, the dug deeper into each element and gave details on all 5 that I was unaware of - most interestingly on when Rolex moved to producing their own in-house movements.

Finally had the time to watch this. A nicely made video, and a lot of good information in jt. Thanks for posting it, Roger! No problem Chip. I thought I knew a lot of Rolex history, but they really dug up some interesting nuggets in this that I have NEVER heard before.

Love this video. Just factual, little-known details about the company. Especially interesting, as you say, about 2004 being the first year that Rolex started producing their inhouse movements. Or, I guess taking over the manufacture entirely from Eigler (spelling?). Interesting that the GMT had been also worn in space, I guess looking at the model, after it was produced for Pan Am pilots?
