Thanks Mike - we were just discussing these in the SIHH 2018 thread, but hadn’t got to the movement sizing parts yet. Haven’t seen anything on pricing but these are some nice pieces for sure.

I’m a fan, and that’s the first time I said that about an Olympic piece. If it has the jumping hour hand, I might have to look into one.

Hey Chip, If this really has the 8800 inside (I haven't checked) then no it does not have the jumping hour hand. This would be like a normal movement with quick set date in position 2. Cheers, Al

Cheers, Al Thanks for your input, Archer I guess not a deal breaker, but it would have been nice to have the jumping hand, as I find that to be a very useful feature. Almost no need for a GMT. On the flip side, the price is probably lower due to not having that feature.

Very nicely designed IMO. The design must be a combination of elements from various Olympic stopwatch designs. Personally, I'm glad to see another model around the 40mm size. Will be interesting to hear about the WR rating, and I doubt it it will be a screwed down crown, which is just fine for this type of watch. Interesting info by Archer comparing the 8800 and 8900 movements: "The jumping hour hand doesn't have anything to do with the movement diameter, but would impact the thickness. I can only assume it was just a design decision made by Omega not to include it on the 8800 series. The 8800 is an 11.5 ligne movement, so 26 mm diameter. The 8900 is a 13 ligne movement, so 29 mm. The 8800 is 4.6 mm thick, where the 8900 is 5.5 mm thick. I hear polar opposite opinions on the jump hour feature - some love it because you don't have to stop the watch to change the hour, and some hate it because there is no quick set date. It is sometimes a source of failures on the watches that have them, but that is usually when service is neglected. Cheers, Al" Read more: wristwatchforums.proboards.com/thread/14860/omega-railmaster?page=3#ixzz549p4X8gr

Looks like retail on those will be 5400 dollars. A bit high IMHO, I was thinking it would be in the 4k range.
