Not usually my type of watch, but this has really become a favorite. The larger bracelet and updated movement make it just about the ultimate dive watch IMO. That D-Blue dial gets me every time!  Check out the Rolex website for all the updates. I wonder how long the waitlist is for the new SS Pepsi with Jubilee bracelet?! And the white gold Pepsi now has a new blue dial! I think I like the previous black dial model best, though. Like the one Robb has. Glad I decided to hang on to my OP34, silver dial with metal arabics at 3, 6, and 9 is gone now. All the OP models have stick markers, which is not a bad thing. The 39mm OP now has a black dial version with stick markers. Sunburst black dial. So, Pepsi is now in SS and with the new jubilee bracelet. - nice, but not getting on any list for it.  carl - I don't see a blue dial BLRO. EDIT - I see it now on the main Rolex site, not the 2018 releases. Oh boy, not a fan. The black dial version looks better IMHO.  Two tone black/brown bezel GMT Master II - not a fan of TT or that bezel on the TT or even SS if they did that. Everose gold black/brown bezel GMT Master II - looks hot but way too much gold for me to wear or afford.  |

Everose gold Black/Brown doesn't do it fo rme either. And I feel bad for the BLRO. And I feel good for those who already have the black dial model. I think you guys did the right thing: Rommel, with his black GMT, Roger with your's, and Robb with BLRO black dial. Looks like all the Sub models are still unchanged. Maybe that will be on the agenda for next year, ie new movement and maybe case/lug/bracelet Although they are exciting changes, nothing to really make me whip out the Visa just yet! |

While I appreciate the upgraded movement in the new DSSD, for me, the bracelet was a solution to a problem that didn't exist....I have 0 issue with the original bracelet.
Not a fan of the new font used on the Ring Lock either - but I guess it's there as a differentiator.
The DSSD is without question the fullest expression of the dive watch genre.
P.S.
I can take or leave the new coronet between Swiss and Made - anyone know if this replaces the LEC? I hope not, I love the LEC
On Edit - also love the new black dial OP39, jus' sayin'

Must say I am also a big fan of that black dial on the OP39. The Mercedes hand has never really been a favorite of mine, but not a deal breaker. And I like the Rolex logo at 12 as well. I had also been waiting a long time for Rolex to come out with a black dial for the OP34, but not with the double stick markers at 3, 6 and 12. I might have to take a look at the OP34 black dial as well. But I think the black dial OP39 is a clear winner. |
