I have decided that I have to have a speedy. Which one should I get? I love them all. Part of me wants the original one and part of me wants one that is associated with a big event in the space program. It is so hard to chose just one. Original Speedy First Moon Landing 40th Space Walk

But if you ever have a need for a quick EVA, your watch could not go with you!

If I could find this one, it would be PERFECT. A limited edition, but it looks normal. Omega's legendary "Moon Watch" - flight-qualified by NASA for manned spaceflight missions in 1965 and the only watch ever to be worn on the moon, has a new addition. This limited-edition model commemorates the 30th anniversary of the last man to walk on the moon, Gene Cernan, commander of the Apollo XVII mission. The caseback bears an imprint of the Apollo XVII mission patch and the special engraving "E. A. CERNAN APOLLO XVII 12.14.1972 LAST MAN ON THE MOON". It is a limited edition of 3,000 pieces. The watch features the Omega Calibre 1861 mechanical hand-winding movement with a power reserve of 40 hours. It has a Hesalite crystal, and a screw-in caseback giving it a water resistance of 30 meters. What sucks is that this exact watch was available on WTF sales forum just a few weeks ago, for 1700.

Lol Chip You are right Does someone knows the retail price of the : 3573.50.00 Thanks... I belive that the saphire front and back is $1000 more than the flight qualified one, so MSRP should be 3700...3800. You should be able to pick one up for 30% off that price.

Chip All speedmaster pro is a watch to have, but I would personally have chosen the original
The one, most collectors seems to want is the speedmaster pro calibre 321 The watch that actually went to the moon So far, we know that at least three models made it to the moon 145.012 like mine was the first on the moon. Also a 105.012 and a 105.003 has been there
But most important, I think you will be very happy with a speedmaster pro, whichever way you choose to go. And it might happen to be your first manual watch, needed winding every day
Cheers Jon

My vintage Seamaster 30 is a manual wind and I kinda like the fact that it depends on me to run every day. No winder in the world can make that second hand sweep.

I forgot your manual 30mm It's a nice feeling isn't it, winding it every day. You might also be anble to find the 30th limited edition of Apollo XI. Maybe the nicest caseback that Omega made, and it is limited to 9999, and not that hard to find, even if it was made in 1999 The caseback has the famous Hello Houston, Tranquility Base Here The Eagle Has Landed -- July 21, 1969 02:56 GMTCheers Jon
