It feels like too much empty space on the dial but I'm in the mood for waffles for some reason.

I like it but I can’t buy that one either. Even if I wanted to, I’m sure the waitlist is over the top.

I might have an opinion if I could afford one!

Just noticed the minute markers are shorter and wider too.

Not that I’ll ever own one, but I can dream. I like the new indices, but prefer the old date location. Maybe leave the AP logo but move the AP script to the lower dial.

Personally, I like it better. I never really understand why any brand needs to put "Automatic" on the dial anyway. And I really like the shorter, thicker markers. I always thought the markers on the previous model were a bit long. I'm OK about the date as well. Still, I wish that I could get the chance to even see one in real life. It seems there is no AD at all here in Vancouver now. A server at my favorite Italian, his Dad owns an AP, and I have been fortunate enough to see that in real life. His dad lets him wear it sometimes (lucky bastard! ). Anyway, I guess the AP models now are so popular, that it is difficult to score one. It is definitely a brand that I feel I am missing out on, even if I just get to see a few models in real life.

I just saw the new models on instagram but didn’t see any info on them and couldn’t tell what the changes were. I knew if I logged on here, Roger would have some insight. Thanks for the quick comparison, Roger.
I like everything about the new version except the date. As Roger pointed out, it’s too far too the edge. It would have been perfect if it was moved over just enough to have a row of “squares” between the date aperture and the seconds track. I also wish they beveled the date opening like AP did on the 15400.
As far as the “automatic” is concerned, I agree with Carl. It looks fine with out it. The texture on the dial is nice that I don’t feel there’s “too much dial”.
Thanks again for the side by side.

My eye likes the new chapter ring around that dial. The larger AP logo looks sharp too.

It's inside the chapter ring, so it moves it far enough away from the edge of the dial. I do like the larger AP logo as well as the absence of "Automatic".

Is the date just a bit larger?

Is the date just a bit larger? Yes, if you look at the squares around the windows you can tell it is.

It seems to cut into the chapter ring a bit and as a result looks like it’s a part of the chapter. It makes the date look off center relative to the squares.
