PAM 562 Luminor Base 8 Days Titanium Brown Dial - 44mm - P.5000 In House Manually Wound Movement - Water Resistance 300M
My first Panerai, purchased 8 months ago. After I first got it, I fully wound it and found out that it actually ran for around 9 days. Pretty pleased with that, I decided one day to test the accuracy over the 8 Days. So, 8 days ago at 10:30am local time, I wound it up and put it on my wrist. My plans to wear it for 8 days, however, stopped short as I purchased a new watch in the meantime, which I wore for the last 5 days. Anyway, I decided that even not wearing the PAM constantly, I would see how accurate it was after 8 days.
After 8 days, 5 of which the watch was sitting flat on my desk, it is running 90 seconds fast. An average of +11.25 secs/day. Personally, I am very happy with that result. I have heard stories of even 3 day movements not matching that. But I am having trouble finding any other record of the accuracy of this movement.
Of course, I will always wonder how accurate it would be if I actually wore it for 8 days. Maybe one day I will find out.
Now, I will let the watch run out and see when it stops. I have read on a few forums that the movement will actually run for over 9 days.
Apart from the movement, I love the watch. And it may just be my favorite of my four Panerai models. However, after I wear any of my Panerai watches I usually feel that the particular one is my favorite! I love how the titanium works with the brown dial, and mostly wear it on the OEM Brown Crocodile Leather strap which comes with the watch.
Mine is an "R" series, which I believe is the first of this model to have a none sandwich dial. Nevertheless, the lume still glows beautifully, and I have no complaint. The digits and markers are kind of hollowed out of the dial, and filled with super luminova, which gives a great effect. I think better than just painted on top of the dial.
Thanks for looking at my review.
Cheers,
Carl
