You’ll get a 50th anniversary SD one day Carl. It is your destiny 😉
In the interim, the Submariner will do just nicely .👍

Anyway, I was at my AD today. They are getting a shipment of Rolex this week, as usual they don't know which ones. They got a Submariner Date last week, and gave me the option of getting it. But I really want to wait for the 114060. If I ever decide I want a Rolex diver with date, then there is no question that it will be the SD43. I really can't see me having both. If I do decide later that I want the SD43, then I will sell the 114060. At least that will not be a difficult chore! Anyway, I'll say it again: Great to have you back! Cheers, Carl

Well, yesterday afternoon I got "The Call" that many of us have waited for! Exactly 4 weeks, to the day, since I change my order to the 114060 it is here! So, this afternoon I will head downtown to pick it up. After 20 years or more of bypassing the Rolex diver for other watches, for various reasons, I will finally be able to find out what it is like to really own one of these. Very exciting, to say the least! Cheers, Carl

OMG! It has been almost 6 years since I first saw one of these in real life. Now, I can't believe I actually own one. It really is true what is said about this Sub, or any Rolex Professional model for that matter. I look on my wrist, and hardly believe it's actually on there! As Chip says, possibly the most iconic watch of all time. After all these "flippin'" years, I simply thought that I would be doing myself an injustice not to have this in my collection. Enough said. Just couldn't help taking some pics this afternoon:
Does it really get any better than this? I showed it to a good buddy of mine, a server at my local Italian. He just said "What are you going to do with your other watches now?" Cheers, Carl

Love it carl. Truly iconic. Like you say, there’s nothing like a submariner on your wrist.

Love it carl. Truly iconic. Like you say, there’s nothing like a submariner on your wrist. For sure - a true icon. Often copied, never equaled. Congrats Carl. No one does a SS diver quite like Rolex.

What’s the bezel like on the new Sub Carl? I’m really impressed with the SDs bezel. No vertical play whatsoever and the action is very tight and precise. Way better than the two 116660 DeepSea models I have owned.

Way better than the two 116660 DeepSea models I have owned. You described it perfectly, Pete. Even though it is extremely easy to turn, it is all that you say. And extremely easy to grip, without being sharp. Then, of course, the crown action. One of the main elements that drew me always to this model. And I'm sure it is no different on any model in the Professional line. Fact is, every element on this watch is pure perfection. Who could ask for more? Cheers, Carl

Yep, you’re correct about the crown mate. There is none better on the market. I have owned countless watches from other high end brands and their crowns pale in comparison. Flimsy, excessive play, etc. Always gave me a lack of confidence.
The triplock crowns are like a bank vault.
