Having not worn this watch for nearly a year, I may have gained some new appreciation for it. I was seriously planning to sell it, now I have second thoughts. Patek Philippe Gondolo: It is so rare to see a rectangular movement actually made to fit the watch. Now that PP has discontinued this model, it seems to make it more valuable to me. If it goes, I will most certainly never be able to replace it. Sure, there are pre owned models available, but I would never go that route with a watch like this. With all this self isolation currently, it is great to have such a wonderful hobby and also access to social media to fill time sharing our watches and experiences. Cheers, Carl

Has it been a year? I recall your photos of it. I'll toss in some old brass today.

Cheers, Carl So true on many levels. We all have more time to spend with our collections since we are self-isolating. Being discontinued, it does make the choice that much more critical to think through. It's nice to have something special in the collection that is not common yet is of high quality. It's a fitting tribute to your friend as well - classy and not austentatious.

carl - I went bronze today since you went gold. Like yours, this one has a special connection since CHIP and rigsby pulled together to make it happen for me. Since the black/charcoal dial version of this one came out, I’ve considered flipping it because the black and bronze looks a little better IMHO but this one reminds me of how special the WIS community can be. Then I took a look at the remainder of the collection. And I have the WG Blue Submariner on order. I love the variety of brands and styles and don’t see anything that needs to go, so I’m content for now.

Baco Noir I remember the story of that beautiful Tudor bronze very well! And I remember when you got that strap, I don't think you could do any better for a strap pairing with that watch. Spectacular! And I see the patina is really coming along well.

Carl, so you have 2 Reversos and the Patek Gondolo now? Yes. I have other watches in my collection, but most of them are being sold.
