CHIP that factory canvas is the winner, maybe even over the leather . To be honest, I think this is the nicest IWC I have ever seen - bar none!

CHIP I remember you said it is pretty difficult to get. Actually, I am thinking of selling my Zenith Pilot Cronometro as I might like the IWC better. I really want one bronze in my collection. The dark green dial on your's really appeals to me. Actually, the size and everything. I never honestly thought I would get excited about an IWC. But there you have it, that's the exciting thing about this hobby, you never know what's around the corner!

Basically you tell your AD and you’ll get one, but there is no crazy wait list, relationship to be developed, ETC. I don’t know what I like better between mine and yours. They are very different. From a movement aspect... yours is the clear winner. While they are both in house, both column wheel, etc, I’d be a full to challenge the mighty El Primero.

CHIP glad you clarified the availability aspect for me. Not that I was going to rush into it, in my usual impulsive fashion . I am seriously attempting to trim my collection, and anything that gets no wrist time is going. I recently did take my Zenith Pilot out of the drawer for a serious look, and it still really appeals to me. It is difficult to tell what Zenith has done to the finish, however, and that it the only thing about the watch that really doesn't thrill me. I have read various review, and it seems like they put a thin black coating of some kind on it, then brushed it. I must admit, it does give it a unique appearance. However, it seems like they have somehow inhibited the progression of the patina, and I just can't seem to get it to go beyond the way it was out of the box. I am going to get some sea water, though, and soak it in that for a while and see what happens. It really was not a good seller for Zenith, and they discontinued it after 2 years. It was a few hundred dollars more than the Spitfire is. Anyway, knowing that the Spitfire is not that difficult to get, and also it is the first bronze watch that Zenith has made that is not a limited edition, I realize there need be no rush on my part. Meanwhile, I think I will take it out for another spin soon. Keep enjoying your's!!

carl - has the U1 luster worn off already? I have always loved the look and heard they are great, but more comfortable on the rubber strap. If I go U1 over U50 I’ll probably buy on the bracelet and add the strap.

Baco Noir no, I still really like the U1. But when it was gone for 2 weeks I scarcely missed it. But I think that is because I have been wearing almost nothing but my Bremont for almost the last month. I think the rubber strap might be more comfortable, though. I did notice, after I wore it for a while, it gives the impression of being slightly top heavy, although it does hug the wrist, and probably just feels that way because of the weight. I like to wear the bracelet a bit loose, that is so my little finger fits between the bottom of my wrist and the strap, but fairly snugly. Admittedly, it never gives the sensation that it is going to roll off the edge of my wrist. I think, to be honest, the thickness in addition to the weight contribute to making it a bit top heavy. Given the opportunity to do it again, I might well consider the U50. Don't get me wrong, the top heavy thing is not a deal breaker, but something I just didn't notice before. And I have been wearing a watch that is a lot smaller. And the U50 is really quite a bit thinner, from 14.7mm to 11.15mm! And now that I have thoroughly confused you ..... I will keep you updated. It is a shame there are not a few more Sinn ADs, as a watch of this size really begs to be tried on and seen in real life IMO. Nevertheless, I do not regret my decision one bit.

Glad to hear it carl . The rubber strap with tegimented clasp is about $325 here in the US and daveathall told me it wears great on the strap. I’ve heard that from others too. I am like you and generally like to wear my bracelets a little loose and thick ones do roll on my wrist and it becomes noticeable. It was one of the reasons I sold my Z series SD.
