Hey,
I recently (About a month ago) brought a Rolex Oyster perpetual grape dial 34mm new from an AD. I do love this watch. However, I feel that I kinda rushed my decision in buying this. I don't regret buying the watch, but since buying it I have started to research the Rolex brand a lot (It was my first Rolex) and I now wonder whether I would be better suited with a Milgauss, Explorer or an Air King. I was wondering if I should sell the OP and buy one of these second-hand instead. It's not that I don't like the OP, I love it. I just feel I was so excited that I made a premature decision and should have thought and researched more carefully beforehand.
I payed £4050 pounds sterling for the OP new. As this was a lot of money for me, I would have to sell it in order to finance another watch. I would want to get at least what I payed for it back if not a little more. It is in fairly good condition and only has a few minor scratches. If I did get the money back then I could afford to finance another model. Realistically, If I sold the watch, would I get my money back?
Or am I rushing and should I just appreciate the OP? After all, there's nothing I dislike about it, I just wonder if one of the other models might be a better buy. Should I just wait and save for some more years and buy another model then?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome. Congrats on your new OP. My take. Wear the OP and enjoy it. Enjoy your Rolex research. You are considering several models. Give yourself time to settle on your favorite piece. Take it from there and don't rush. And post a photo of your new OP for us to appreciate.

My advice is go to the ADs and try things on, think on it for a while and then decide. Remember, there is always something newer and more shiny. The watches that stick are the ones you think about for a while and the next shiney thing doesn’t sway your desire. Welcome to the forum.

I have to say that the 34mm OP has always been one of my favorite Rolex models. And that Grape dial is totally unique. And it's a color I think would work with just about anything you wear. As said by priamo and Baco Noir maybe you should hang on to it, at least for a little while, and take a long look at other possibilities over time. I think most of the modern Rolex watches hold value well, and from what I hear most models are hard to get right now. Even at my local AD, they have absolutely no more OP 34s left right now. The OP34 is such a great piece. The cushion case actually makes the watch wear more like a 36mm. And it's not a bad thing to have a smaller watch anyway. Cheers, Carl

If you are considering selling your Rolex OP, consider your options carefully. Consider your personal preferences and financial situation as motivations. Consult with your partner and discuss your intentions together to ensure decisions are aligned with your shared goals and efforts.
