Here we go! This doesn't include: 3 watches currently for sale + 2 watches on loan to a friend (Sub 14060 which he is deciding whether to buy or not and FOIS) If my Sub 14060 sells, I will likely sell the PAM 673 and use those funds for a Rolex SD43 Rolesor. I have loved this watch ever since it was released. Gives the regular stainless steel diver a bit of frivolity. Unique in the dive watch world, no other brand does this robust a dive watch, with this depth rating, in anything with gold. Gotta love it! And I do have to admit, I always feel my collection must have a Rolex. I have, and always will, stand by the Rolex brand regardless of all bad press it may get: carl For some reason the images you've posted won't load / display for me. lagunatic I do envy you in a lot of ways, having a 1 Watch Collection! That is my goal but will not likely happen for a few years. Honestly! I wish there was one watch that made me as happy as the 18K Submariner makes Ron. Nice! I'm glad to hear that. It's going to keep running well for a long time I bet. I like that you kept all of that stuff, it's the sign of a true enthusiast in my books.

carl Never mind! For some reason the image of your collection displayed when I quoted you. Very nice! Rolex is an essential piece for any collection, indeed. If that sale does end up happening the SD43 is the way to go for you. You've currently got a few Chronograph pieces there, one of the best complications in my opinion.

rw16610 I never really meant to end up with this number of chronographs. The Longines BigEye has the Valjoux modified column wheel, likely the best. The Hanhart Bronze is a newer Sellita SW150 modified with no date chronograph movement, the Zenith Cronometro Tipo 2 Bronze is interesting with the El Primero Flyback. The Zenith will likely go on the market at some point. It never turned out to be a very popular model, I think largely because of price. A couple years ago, when I got it, it was over $9000cad. Fortunately, my AD gave me a good discount, but it's still expensive. Your collection is growing nicely! Great to have the grail Omega and Breitling chronographs that you always admired! Glad you have kept the Rolex GMT, as you know that one is no longer available. And the pre owned price is amazing. Not meaning to diss Rolex, but I could never understand why that model was discontinued. To me, it's almost like if they discontinued the stainless steel Submariner in a way, a staple stainless steel model. I am probably more impressed with the SD43 Rolesor right now, more than any other Rolex model. Possibly the uniqueness. And I realize as I am saying this, I have not yet seen one in real life. I had occasion to try on the stainless steel model a year or so ago, and it fits just perfectly. Actually felt a lot smaller on my wrist than I anticipated. When the Sub 114060 arrived, with the wide lugs, it almost felt bigger. I really think Rolex did a fine job this year with the refinements.

carl That sounds pretty cool! It's funny because my obsession with collecting Chronographs obviously put Zenith on my list. A rich history behind the brand given whom they've supplied movements for over the years. The El Primero Stratos Flyback or the other pieces with the same dial design were of great interest. Image from Google Given the range they were in I would rather own the Chronomat 44 and continue saving for my aspirational piece, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore "Panda dial". Image from eBay listing I'm happy to be able to say none of these watches will be sold this time around. I made some moves in the past (none I regret) but saw how difficult it was to find a decent example in great shape, etc. Every watch tells a story of my past and represents steps along my journey. The vintage pieces or ones from the late 2000's exemplify the aforementioned journey best as it was a golden era for me with watches. I'm sad they stopped making it but this only makes it more special to me. I'm SO grateful I got the GMT when I did because there's no way in hell I can justify the grey market prices. They're great watches but in Audemars Piguet territory there's no way I would chose Rolex despite my underlying appreciation for the brand. I haven't seen the SD43 either but it's good you want the two tone version. It's very unique and obviously the first time this has been done in the history of the watch. Once you can get it from your AD and enjoy the experience it's certainly worth doing. It may wear larger but in my opinion that's perfectly fine. It'll still be more refined and aesthetically pleasing than say a Planet Ocean Chronograph.

rw16610 the AP Chrono is an amazing watch! Of friend of mine's dad has one, and I have seen it in real life. Amazing! I really like my Zenith El Primero, the bronze Cronometro Tipo CP-2, but it gets so little wrist time, I'm afraid it is one I will sell eventually as well.

carl He's very lucky. Having a watch from one of the top 3 watchmakers has always been my dream. Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin are amazing bit to me a bit less practical / sporty when compared to the AP. Life's too short to hang onto a watch that doesn't get wrist time and lacks some significant sentimental value that would make it worth keeping. Is there a brand you haven't owned yet that seems to be calling you?

rw16610 Actually, before I completely make up my mind on the Rolex SD43, there are some other watches I would like to look at. I want to make certain that this purchase is a sure, long time thing. I have really been looking closely at the relatively new (2019) Glashutte Original SeaQ and SeaQ Panorama Date Diver, and as well would like to take a look at the Blancpain 50 Fathoms Bathyscaphe and Breguet Type XXI 3817. Glashutte Original SeaQ Breguet Type XXI 3817 Blancpain 50 Fathoms Bathyscaphe: So, for a change, I am not going to be impulsive!! I am really taking my time. I still feel it is going to be the SD43 Rolesor, but when I see these other models, who knows? Also, in the past I never gave resale value a second thought. Now, especially when it comes to the higher end pieces, I must start taking resale more seriously. The thing that the SD43 has going for it, is the excellent resale value. On the other hand, if I see a watch I seriously like better, I don't want to get the Rolex because of resale. I do have to consider more seriously if the watch is going to be a keeper. I had it easy for a few years, being able to get so many great watches, and don't have any regrets. But it's no less fun for me now, and I am really enjoying taking my time in making the decision.

carl You've got great taste! Have you seen the link system on the SeaQ in a video before? Just based on the picture you've posted it seems similar to the A. Lange & Söhne system. They've got one like that on the Odysseus. Image from YouTube video Image from YouTube video Image from YouTube video Image from Google I think for the SeaQ with screws that's a great location for them vs. the traditional spot. You should always maximize options and a part of this is buying right and being fiscally responsible. If you bought the SD43 and it didn't speak to you, at least you've got options and won't take a bath so to speak. I think it's great you're thinking longer term here. One thing we know for sure - a Rolex will always have it's place in your collection. Apparently this is true to an extent with Omega as well. Since I've given up on cars as a hobby it has shifted my focus (for a hobby) to watch collecting. They're much easier to keep and hold value better once bought right. I can't overlook the fact you posted a Breguet and Blancpain. A LOT of history and excellence between those two brands also. One things for sure - it's a very difficult process trying to narrow down which watches to buy. Given your purchasing history though you would have a better sense of what appeals to you and what doesn't to increase the probability of you keeping one long-term. For some reason Rolex comes to mind again. I'm confident you'll be very happy with anything you end up buying, how ever you reorganization your collection.

rw16610 I have seen a couple SeaQ videos. They show the bracelet, but make no mention of the fact that they have the easy change links. Only that each link in the bracelet is removable. When you see the inside of the bracelet, though, it looks like the same system. And the adjustable clasp is just great as well! This is the Panorama Date, with the bracelet: I can't really find much info on the bracelet, but it looks like each link has some kind of screw mechanism. I have to do some more research on that bracelet. I do know the clasp has a built in adjustment, about 7mm, in appx 1mm increments. You don't even need to take the bracelet off, you just touch the logo in the middle of the clasp: To be honest, I can't really find anything about this watch I don't like. I have to finally see one in real life to appreciate it. I saw the regular 39.5mm model, and it was beautiful. This one with panorama date is just over 43mm. I love that the two date wheels are on the same plane. And the movement has 100 hrs. power reserve.

Great pcs. all. At a lower price point I like this one (among others). A toolish feel which is my direction now. And a Blancpain feel as Chip posted a while ago. 45mm is not quite what I have in mind but I have enough polished cases right now.

Beginning of this year Baco afaik. Fratello says the rubber "bumpers" are well made. And Union upgrades the ETA 2892 with a silicon hair spring. 60 hr power reserve for those into that sort of thing. Sapphire crystal and bezel. 22mm l/w. Comes with 2 quick release straps; rubber and leather. Uhren-Miquel has this on sale for Euro 1499 (pre-owned, B/P). I'm in a holding pattern right now. Short of tegimented steel this pc is well protected and looks good to me too. Bracelets can be ordered from an AD.
As far as a smaller version is concerned here's their facebook response to that question "We are very sorry, but there will be no smaller version in the near future, because product planning has changed."

So many years of being into watches and it's my first time seeing a system like this. I'm assuming they might not need to use loctite on those as they would with the screws placed at the sides. I also tried looking for some bracelet tutorials and came up with nothing. Like you say, it's virtually the same but with screws vs. a quick release. That quick adjustment on the clasp is out of this world! The inner view of the clasp just screams quality, I'm amazed. It's very clear to me whey you're considering one of those. Oh my goodness, the movement decoration and engineering achievements are something else! I'm blown away and THIS is what fine watch making is all about. One interesting observation is that every link, all the way up to the end links has that screw system which is neat. At service they could completely dismantle the bracelet and service / change any of the worn components much easier than the traditional watch. If you did decide to go this route it would be clear why and you simply can't go wrong. So much to appreciate! Great pcs. all. At a lower price point I like this one (among others). Certainly something I wouldn't mind having in my collection either. Heck, I've been saying that a lot lately and the worst part is I've been acting on it. Are there any good video reviews of this piece on YouTube?
