OMG! I finally got to see one today in real life. Unfortunately, not at a Rolex AD. It is in the pre owned section at one of my favorite ADs, though, and of course going for a premium over the MSRP of a new one. This one is 2019, kept in a safe since it was new. I never thought I would care for it from the photos online, but when I had it on my wrist, I have to admit it is the "purdiest" Rolex I have ever seen. I have see the all Everose in real life, and thought it beautiful, but I think this one is even nicer: I am in kind of a dilemma, albeit a really nice one! I can get the watch if I like, my AD will take a couple of watches as trade from my current collection, and I just pay the difference. However, I am taking into account the price difference from MSRP and the amount I would lose trading my 2 watches, rather than selling privately. On the other hand...I am now 71 years old, and I know I can order the Root Beer from my Rolex AD, but I have a feeling even with my great history with him it will likely take at least a couple of years. The root beer seems to be even more scarce than the Daytona! And one of this can be up to 4 years, at least! Anyway, I had in mind that I might eventually get a two tone Sea Dweller, but I now know that I would much prefer the Root Beer with the Everose. Stunning!

Yes it is! It’s the best looking TT I’ve ever seen. I got to try one on in NYC last year and saw the full RG too. While I really liked the TT (can’t say I’ve EVER said that about a TT before) the full RG version sang to me a little more.
That’s a tough call Carl. Might be worth a call to your AD to see what they think the wait might be. Paying a premium is always a hard pill to swallow, but I’d take this one over the TT SD anytime.
Good luck with the decision.

Baco Noir After giving this lots of thought, and the fact I would be able to get it tomorrow, I will just have to be patient. Not only is it thousands more than MSRP, if I trade a couple of watches in my collection as well, I will lose money over what I would get by selling them outright. I figure I would be out by 10 grand. On the other hand, I may not still be alive by the time I get the watch if I order one! Also, I am waiting to see the new Zenith A385 revival, the dial of which is exactly the colors I love. That should be at my AD next week. If I like the Rolex better, then I will just go ahead and order one. At least I have the history with my Rolex AD so they would order me any one that I want. Then wait until it shows up, which I realize could literally be years, with the understanding it is at least as difficult to get as a Daytona. Fingers crossed that I like the Zenith A385 just as much, I have had my eyes on it ever since it was announced!

Solid decision Carl. If you do decide to go with it, you’ll have time to sell those to outright and pocket more money and pay less too.
I will say, the TT and RG Root Beer are two of the only watches my wife has continued to talk about how much she liked after I’ve left a watch store, so there is something super attractive about them to even non-watch folks. I think it’s how well the dial/bezel go with the RG - it’s really a beautiful combination.

Happy to say that I am now officially on the wait list of wanna be Root Beer owners! At the ripe age of 71, I would hope to enjoy the watch for a least a couple of years!
