Jamie ! It's so nice to see you here and the Submariner still on your wrist! This piece is no doubt a keeper. Hard to want anything else with that.

Thanks man! I just can't get past it. I got spotted and called out today by a Vietnam Vet, who told me he bought a Pepsi GMT at a PX for $199 in 1969. He still has it, and immediately asked where I got mine. Told me he was getting $1500 a month with combat pay and sure looked at that GMT for a while before pulling the trigger. I want to have a story like that one day, and it seems I probably will!!!

Jamie That's a great story! I remember seeing / hearing a similar one on a popular antiques roadshow clip. Many have excellent stories to tell who bought those pieces back in the day and I'm glad you we're able to share that moment. With the way things are going you definitely will. I'm SO happy you kept this watch and obviously will, for life. Seeing you post it reminds me of the fond memories from the 2007 onward. How's the timekeeping? Did you ever need to get it serviced?

It went in to Rolex for service once and could stand another visit. It is running right at +6 seconds a day. No complaints though, its been through a ton of stuff and just ignores it all.

Jamie That's not too bad. I would keep it going like this for as long as you can. Having to part with it for 4-6 weeks must be painful, but once returned you'll be even more appreciative.
