Throughout the past few decades, as a watch lover, I have had the privilege of trying and owning some fantastic pieces. But I don't think anything has come close to the beauty of this Breitling. Months ago, back in April, when the Premier Heritage models were introduced, I immediately put down a deposit for this model. Even though I was not entirely convinced this Pistachio green dial would "work" for me, I was obsessed with getting a heritage style model with a manually wound movement. Especially since this is the first model with the B09 movement with an open case back. It has such a realistically vintage vibe to it. Without being a revival model, it is something which I might expect the experience of owning might have been in 1943, when the Premier Chronograph was first introduced. The only thing aesthetically that has really changed IMO is the use of rectangular pushers, instead of round. At first, I kind of wondered about that. Wearing the watch, however, I can see that it makes it more versatile. I would have no problem wearing this with a suit (that is, if I owned one! ) or dressier clothing. It also seems to be working well with my t-shirt and khaki cargo shorts! Here are a few pics I took this evening. I got the call rather late in the day that the watch had arrived, so I hastily put together some pics:

Lol - I thought this was an “I’m going to sleep on it” post but I see that it’s not the case Butter! Of all the watch enthusiasts I know, you are the most prolific. I love watching you chase your passion and not hesitating. Congrats my friend.

Baco Noir Thanks! I actually put down a deposit back in April for first refusal. It has taken this long since the watch was introduced for my AD to receive the first one! A few watches from my collection have, and will be, sacrificed. But it will be worth it.

Congrats Carl. That’s a beauty. I can’t wait to see more pics, especially of the dial in different light. Like Roger said, it’s fun watching you chase down different watches that catch your eye and interest.

Thanks muckymark but in a way, the party is over! I am now concentrating on acquiring pieces that I am going to keep! My goal is, for the end of the year, to have 5 in my collection. I still have a few to sell, though, but sales are going well.

Congratulations!!!
I really like that one. To be honest, I don’t know a single person that does not like it.
Breitling nailed that one, I’m happy for you!

Thanks CHIP and I can't agree more. And apart from the dial, the lovely B09 manually wound movement just tops it off beautifully. With the smaller 40mm case (the others in the Premier collection being 42mm) the movement really fills the case beautifully. Normally I would prefer a solid case back, but I believe this is the first Breitling B09 model with the sapphire case back.

Wow! carl A huge congrats to you on this piece! Something from a great brand with a dial like none other. I highly doubt many pistachio dials were around prior to this (in modern times) and don't think you've owned one yet, so another first.

rw16610 this a very special one indeed! It's a long story. When this model was announced back in April, I put down a deposit for one. I was told that I would have first refusal when one arrived. And they didn't get the first one until last week. Along the way, I got impatient, and decided to get that Navi instead. At first, I was told the client who sold it back to them was going to bring in the papers. All it had was the box. Of course, it's Time & Gold, so I had no problem waiting for the papers. About a week later, I got a call, saying that the client couldn't find the papers. They felt horrible about it, and offered me a full refund if I wanted it. So in the end I just asked if I could do a trade for the value when the Pistachio arrived. Now that I have it, I am very glad I did get it. I really liked the Navi, but soon realized this one is more suitable for me. And I can't afford to keep both anyway.

carl Things happen for a reason and this clearly worked out for the better. The Navitimer was great but without a full set it's a deal breaker for me as a collector. In fact, I faced this in the past with my first Omega 2225.80 Chronograph Seamaster Professional. The one I got from Watchfinder had no papers (cards) and it really bothered me for that particular watch. So I traded it with the Explorer II and vintage Seamaster to get my 116710LN which is now discontinued and virtually impossible to get unless you're willing to pay half of what a Royal Oak Offshore would be. Having this one brand new for you is best case scenario. Also, it's something totally new to you despite many years of being a watch enthusiast. Incredibly unique in the best of ways. Breitling is one of my favourites now, it's very likely I'll add another to the collection. It makes me happy to see the excellent contributions they're making in the watch world to help generate an interest in this beloved hobby.
