Well, carl & Baco Noir , you're to blame here. Ron as well, but I'm not angry at any of you! Just transferred the funds for a Breitling Chronograph from a seller in Japan (eBay) who also has the item listed on Chrono 24! It's pre-owned but appears to be in excellent condition, looks unworn. Not going to reveal the model just yet though. I normally time these things better and order on a Sunday night for example so by the end of the week I (hopefully) have the item. After exchanging messages with the seller to ask questions, they added a pretty decent discount to the listing and the rest is history. A lot of thought and research went into this, so many models considered but it's the one I just had to have! For me it checks all the boxes and I'll be sure to keep any updates coming as I have them.

Hope you don't stay mad at me forever! Anyway, advance congratulations rw16610 and I'm dying of suspense to see which model you are getting!

carl I'm the worst at keeping things like this a secret when I've purchased something. So, it was between this, the Chronomat 44, and an Omega Seamaster Chronograph 2594.52. Given what's in my collection already I wanted something a bit different (HA!). Something that can handle my water adventures with no issues, something that looks a bit more dressy or versatile than the Planet Ocean, something that has a Chronograph with 3 subdials, and also, something I would actually be inclined to use or even travel with when the time comes. The watch I wanted to add was a different variant of one already in my collection. I've seen guys on the Breitling forms do it and never truly understood it until now! Despite the Chronomat 44 being a lovely watch, the ones I browsed did not do it for me like this watch. Back in the day I contemplated selling my Explorer II to get one of these. Have an entire folder of images I found online over the years that I would browse for fun, and just like the fact it's a Day-Date, Chronograph, that despite being thick wears smaller and is indeed versatile. I got a Breitling Chrono SuperOcean A13340 Black dial! What I love about this watch is the dial appears different colours from various angles. Those grooves similar to those of a vinyl record add such a nice touch and it's something I could never imagine or describe prior to buying the Blue version last October. Here are the sellers listing images, it's for just the watch. The papers from this era were junk anyway, similar to a Citizen compared to what they have now. priamo Thanks for your assistance with the Omega top loader search, but this certainly seems like what I was supposed to end up picking.

rw16610 that is such a beauty! Great water resistance for a chrono as well! Looks like you made a great choice!

priamo Thanks! An impressive piece, indeed! As someone passionate about aviation it's yet another bonus of adding a second Breitling to the collection. Chances are it won't be the last either! I also think of how Jerry Seinfeld has been interested in the brand for so many years. Too many other reasons to support how happy I am with this choice.

Congrats Rommel. Can’t wait to see pics when it’s on your wrist.
I too have an incoming, also partly influenced by Roger, but it’s in the affordables category.

Excellent choice Rommel. The concentric circles on the dial do give it a nice texture and reflect the light differently too. Love the placement of the 3 subdials and how they were balanced with the day/date window and logo. The slanted 3-peice bracelet is classic old school Breitling too. Congrats!

Congrats Rommel. Can’t wait to see pics when it’s on your wrist. I too have an incoming, also partly influenced by Roger, but it’s in the affordables category. Thanks, muckymark ! I'm super excited as well and needed to reward myself. Thrilled to hear you've done the same, regardless of category! I'll keep an eye out for out for yours as well! Excellent choice Rommel. The concentric circles on the dial do give it a nice texture and reflect the light differently too. Love the placement of the 3 subdials and how they were balanced with the day/date window and logo. The slanted 3-peice bracelet is classic old school Breitling too. Congrats! Thanks, Baco Noir ! Agreed, and I looked at picture of the Chronomat 44 for countless hours. Tried one on in the past at the AD and settled on this for those very reasons too. It's an era I appreciated even more. John Travolta was an ambassador, and they were still in the "Instruments for professionals" phase of production. Very happy and appreciative of the more recent stuff (which I'm sure I'll be buying) but couldn't pass this up and I'm happy I didn't! Anxious for it to arrive but I'm just glad it's the weekend right now. It's safe to say Breitling is currently my favourite brand, and once I see myself building a collection with. Over the years the service department has been very good to me with regards to answering questions and supporting pre-owned purchases with key information. They even took the serial number of my Blue dialed A13340 and confirmed it was last serviced by then in 2018. Very excited!

The item has been shipped and is getting processed in Tokyo by DHL. It should be here by the 26th (3-days), fingers crossed but DHL has been somehow lightning quick from Japan during the pandemic from purchases I've made over the last year. Also wanted to include another Google image of this remarkable piece! Source on image

And it arrived today! More pictures to follow, eventually. Daylight is best but I'll update the state of my collection in the other thread.
