Hi, I just got a Seiko Chronogragh and have a question. Is the large second hand suppose to stop after a while/ On my other watches the sweep second hand continues to run. I read the instructions but can't decipher them. I also need to stretch the band and I'm waiting for a reply from Seiko on getting some extra links hopefully it won't take to long because I'd sure like to wear it. Thanks, Jim

Welcome to the forum. Are you talking about the second hand on the center post with the minute and hour hand?

That is the chronograph hand and is started and stopped by the button on the top above the crown and is not the second hand. The actual second hand is on one of the small subdials. In my case below, the second hand is at 9 o’clock. Typical chronograph operation is as follows: Press the start button (top) - the seconds count off with the center chronograph hand, the minutes count off on the small minute hand (3 o’clock for me) and hours on the small hour hand (6 o’clock for me). Press stop when done (top button) and then press reset (bottom button at 4 o’clock). IMPORTANT: Do not press the reset button while the chronograph is running, only when stopped. You can damage the chronograph movement when pressing the reset button while the chronograph is running. Hope that helps oldseabee .
