The new deep sea models.. they can keep. 18.2mm thick is stupid. I actually like the way they look, but that thickness is just insane. I don’t see how a normal sized human could pull off over 18mm lol. I was actually looking forward to those and I was hoping this would mark my return to omega. If it was up to 14-15mm I think I would have considered one as my next watch later in the year.
The new speedmaster is nice, that one I like. Good size and not overly thick. I wonder if it has a jumping hour hand like the other two register but automatic models. That’s a great feature that more watches should have. Very useful.
All the OP looking AT models are too small for me, but I think those will sell.
The green SMP is… a green SMP. I want an SMP but the bracelet just doesn’t work for me, and it doesn’t fit me well. Same with the rubber. It’s too big or too small. If they ever go to a simpler bracelet design and sword hands, I’d be the first in line for an SMP. I think it’s a great watch for the money but it’s let down by an 80s looking bracelet that doesn’t taper and lacks fine adjustment.

CHIP Great observations there. Many watches in the current Omega lineup suffer this fate, largely due to the sapphire case backs in many instances. My Planet Ocean Chronograph (9900) is 19mm thick, which is ridiculous. It's by no means an only watch for someone or as versatile as the more all around watches from either Omega or other brands. I believe the Rolex DeepSea Sea-Dweller is 17.7mm thick, which is also insane. I'm anxiously to see reviews where they compare these watches side by side. For me it's amazement on the achieved depth ratings than an actual wearable watch. www.omegawatches.com/omegadays/seamaster-planet-ocean-ultra-deep

All I know is that Ultra deep O-megasteel sounds like the name of a video you’d find in the dark corners of the internet lol.

Hahaha I know. I'm yet to figure out what it actually means or how it enhances this piece vs. the materials used on other similar watches.

Lol I cautiously did a YouTube search and stumbled upon this. I'll likely just skip through it to see the hands on review / video footage of this piece.

Well, I absolutely love it! I had the Breitling Avenger Seawolf a couple of times, almost the exact dimensions. Got used to the size very quickly. I have never been a practical guy, so no sense starting at 72 years of age! Not that I can afford one, or will likely ever own one. There is an excellent YouTube video by Watch Advisor, as shown by Rommel. At the end, they actually show the case disassembled. As far as aesthetics, I love the look. The symmetrical dial with no date especially. The bracelet and clasp are very well done, also shown in the video. Well, that's just me. Not for everyone, I see. And I am actually very happy with my O&M C-1000. A 39.5mm watch with 1000m water resistance.

I love the look of the Ti version with the white dial and blue bezel. But I agree on the thickness. So close, but not quite Omega.

"O-megasteel". Clever. The video tells us the steel is harder and brighter than standard watch steel. Very impressive watches pushing the envelope. The 6000m w/r puts it in a league of it's own. My Formex Element is 15.9mm/h. It's ok on a snug, not tight, fit strap.
