I know it's ugly as hell, but it's atomic/solar and retails for $150 so I couldn't pass it up.

Nice find Sam, sounds like a nice bargain, an atomic would be pretty nice to have

Seems to me that's your second solar-atomic G-Shock. Do I detect a pattern here?
Congrats on the great buy!

Seems to me that's your second solar-atomic G-Shock. Do I detect a pattern here? Congrats on the great buy! I was looking on eBay to see if I could buy just the metal bracelet for my other one. For $28 bucks, I just bought the whole watch. Hopefully it's not a trend....or someone smack me!

As long as they can receive the signal from Boulder, they are always within 1 second, and that, according to their literature, is because of the length of time it might take the signal to reach the watch in your area. I own one, and it is always to the second, with my atomic clock. I know for a fact you can get watches from other companies that also receive the signal, so I believe there are watches that keep as accurate time without resetting, but IMO, none more accurate, especially at that price level.
This rave came from someone who owns one, rarely wears it but enjoys it when he does.

I kinda want one! I'll never wear it but I will always have an accurate watch to use as a reference for the other ones.

Seriously...you can beat the s**t out of it and it won't hurt it a bit. Not to mention, you never have to set the time and you never have to change a battery. It is quite ugly though!

Mine is just the plain black one, and I believe Sam owns one just like it. My stepson wore it for a couple of days, liked it so much as a work watch, went to Costco and plunked down his $60. Sure they are ugly to most, but they are so functional, it more than makes up for it.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all!
