These quick and dirty wrist shots don't do either of these watches justice, so I'll try to take some better pics later tonight. Alpha Triple Date, 35 jewel automatic. Homage to the original Rolex 6062. Alpha Radiomir chronograph. Sapphire crystal, 19 jewel column wheel movement (Venus 175 clone).

How many Alpha's do you have? How long has it been taking to receive the watch after the auction? I just might have to try one out

Very interesting Alphas you've got there. Alpha appears to be expanding their line with some unusual new offerings. I like the chrono. How sturdy do those wire lugs seem to you? Is the strap nice?

I just might have to try one out I'm going to be selling my Pepsi GMT so watch for it on the Sales Corner. I never wear it because I prefer the Explorer II GMT. As far as shipping times, this package was mailed from HK on Feb 4 and I got it today.

This chrono is the highest quality (and most expensive) Alpha I've ever purchased. The strap isn't too bad; certainly MUCH better than the junk strap that came on my Invicta 9980. It's a 24mm strap, so I suspect a replacement isn't going to be cheap. As for the wire lugs, they look pretty sturdy to me. I've never had a watch with wire lugs, so I must admit I'm clueless as to how you change the strap on this watch.

AFAIK the strap cannot be changed easily it is sewn onto the lugs, that's why I was curious about the quality of the strap. The only way to change it is to cut it off and stitch a new one onto the lugs.

The only way to change it is to cut it off and stitch a new one onto the lugs. I think it's a little easier than that—at least I hope it is. There are four screws on the back of the case where the wire lugs go into the case. I suspect if you removed the screws you can pull the wire lugs from the case, slip a new strap on the wire, reinsert into the case, and put the screws back in.

On some vintage watches the lugs are soldered to the case and the straps are sewn on. If these are screwed to the case that would make things a lot easier. ;D
