The turbine blades act as an echo chamber so amplifying the alarm sound from this Breitling. Gets it up to 80dB so I've heard ;D ;D ;D

I have a G2 as well, and the macro capabilities are not that great. Unlike Warren, I do not have any add on lenses. Below are a few closeup shots taken with the camera in one hand and the watch in another.

I could have cropped the original raw image to get a lot closer, what you see is the original shrunk to 800x600 there is lot's more detail available.

It's a hit and miss with the G2 when it comes to macro. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I think that it has a lot to do with the light too. It tends to work better outside when it comes to really really close macro. You ought to crop some details from that Invicta shot so I can see one really up close

Wow! Great job and kudos to Martyn, Warren and Bruce!
Warren and myself have a Canon G2, Bruce and Martyn used the Coolpix 4500. Everybody seems to agree that for the money you can't get a better camera for macro. (coolpix 4500)

The raw file is on my laptop I'll check it out tomorrow and do some blow ups. This is about the limit of what I could coax from the raw file: The G2 is not very good for macros.

Hannes, great macros! I am curious, what is your camera and lens? Nothing special. I use a SONY F-707 and a SONY DSC H-1
