Hi guys, Watches of Switzerland in Auckland is letting this watch go in a SALE for NZ$3,600 = US$ 2,500 approx. It's a Crosswind Chronometer, BRAND NEW, exactly as you see in the picture below, including SAME bracelet and DIAL. With FULL TWO year warranty!!!  Can someone give me FULL DETAILS, INLUDING IF PRICE IS GOOD on this watch? Important question: Is the CROSSWIND still in production or deleted?  Thanks - JJ   |

I think that watch lists for $4350 so $2500 would be a little over 40% off list. Isn't 30% easy to come by on all Breitlings? An extra 10% off is nice, but I wouldn't buy it just because it's 40% off.
Not sure if the Crosswind is still in production. It doesn't show on their website, so maybe not. One of the Breitling gurus should be able to tell you.

Sam is right though.. 30% isnt too difficult to get off breitlings so dont think it is such an awesome deal. Again not sure if they still make it.. what does thebreitling website say?

The watch is discontinued.
7750 based movement, heavily modified, certified chronometer.

Thanks for all the help and replies, guys. Guess I better wait. I thought the price of US$2,500 was too good to pass up. The watch looks very attractive with the all polished bracelet and Romans with luminiscence. Even the white dial looks quite stunning. Besides, I don't have a chronograph...never did. Even if I have to wait for the TT Daytona, how the hell do I justifiy plonking down the out-the-door price of almost US$ 9,000 on a Museum salary?   I don't see the Crosswind any longer on the website so I guess it has been deleted or discontinued. Has anyone had any experience with this particular model? Thanks - JJ |

That's a fine looking Crosswind! Looks like it's on a pilot bracelet - ask if it is the special - which is one of the most expensive Breitling make. It is a discontinued model (It was listed in the Chronolog 2004). Movement is Breitling 13, selfwinding mechanical, min 42hrs reserve, COSC certified movement, 28,800 v.p.h 25 jewels, 100m wrt, unidirectional rachet bezel, screw-lock crown, screw-in back, cambered sapphire glareproofed both sides, crystal, 42.70mm wide, 15.30mm height, 107.70gr, pilot or pilot special bracelet. You say that the watch alone weighs in at 107.70 grams, but the guy on TZ says it has an overall weight of around 120 grams. How can that solid Pilot bracelet weigh ONLY an additional 13 grams?
