Ok...I'll admit I'm doing a Sam here. It didn't take long for me to decide what would be the next addition to the "House of Panerai" in my collection. I wanted the next addition to be a bit of a "counterweight" to the 88. My criteria was to add a manual wind, sandwich dial, non-date as this seems to be a bit more in keeping with the traditional Panerai references of the past. I confess I do prefer a small seconds hand on a watch (yeah, I know but what can I say LOL.) While browsing at my ADs and talking with my favorite rep. he mentioned he might have a little something that could interest me and would treat me well. Back to "vault" he went and shortly returned with....a Jseries 111. The phrase "Carpe Diem" went through my mind and the rest, as they say is history. The watch came with all the usual triple box, rubber strap, and originally worn a brown leather strap. I have to say as soom as I got home the "birth strap" came off and on went the supurb English saddle strap that Joe(from another forum) sent me came off the 88 and straight to the 111. A couple pics, Maybe one of the best things, Gotta love Panerai lume, Wrist shots with that fantastic strap.

I just saw your post on Paneristi.....congrats Mike! The 111 is an awesome choice. My 210 hasn't left my wrist in almost 5 weeks. Don't know if I can say that for any other watch in my collection. I never felt this way the first time around with a Panerai....2nd time's a charm I guess. So, do you have any straps on the way? At least your 2 can share 24mm straps.

You know Sam, I'm going to hook up with Micah. He has a "Stone" colored strap(grey) on his site that I think would really go well with either watch.

May you wear your Panerais in the very bestest of health Thanks Amanda. I'm just enjoying the heck out of these. My goal was to put together a collection of three Pams. With my fondness for GMTs the first had to be the 88. I wanted something a bit closer to the roots and the 111 filled the bill for me. As to the third.....I just don't know yet. With getting two in such a short period of time my watch fund looks like my gas tank did a while back so I have time to think it through.

My goal was to put together a collection of three Pams. You've done great so far. Number 3 should definitely be a Rad.

I agree.... while I'd say 210, you might want to look at the rad 10-day in-house movement (can't recall the number) or perhaps a 190 with the 8-day JLC movement. EDIT... btw, congrats. Looks good on you and the 111 is a classic.
