I just got my first smartphone (don't laugh Chip) an iPhone 4. Trying to figure out the easiest way to post photos directly from the phone to the forum when I'm mobile. The photo I posted today was kind of a pain to post. What's the easiest way?

The easiest way (on paper) is through the ProBoards app, which sells for $2.99 on the app store. It is extremely easy but there is a BIG BUT... Right now, they are having an issue with the app and you cannot upload directly from your camera or from images in the phone memory by using the Camera icon in the app. If you use Photobucket, ImageShack apps on your iPhone or Android or something similar, you can paste the image URL code by selecting the "chain link" button in the image above. ProBoards is aware of the issue and they are working hard to get it fixed. Trust me, they are getting an earful from many ProBoards users! To their credit, they keep in constant touch with admins and they are always quick to acknowledge an issue if it exists. Technically, the software we are using now, Version 5, is still in Beta.

Until we can direct post with the App, it seems like the Photobucket mobile app is the easiest, at least for me.

Correct, it is what Joe is using.
I do not use Photobucket so I would not know.

Is Photobucket for free? I'm currently using SmugMug right now, and for some reason I can't see my pictures on my phone but I can see them on my computer: Sent from my DROIDX using proboards

Thanks for the tutorial we should make this sticky or archive it. I used Flickr and it was convoluted and technically you're not supposed to link directly to Flickr urls anyway. It would be nice if that app worked.

I use SmugMug as well... I have the Pro account that cost about 200 bucks a year.

It would be nice if that app worked. on that note, Flicker wiped out my account with no warning for linking directly to an image. I was a paid customer of about 6 years and they wiped me out 100% without a warning. When I emailed them borderline crying, they said " you should have read the terms and conditions. Once we delete an account, we do not keep a copy of the photos nor do we reinstate". I had photos on there that I had no other copies of anywhere else. That was it for me. Never again will I give them one dime of my money. I need to find the time and build a really nice FAQ section. It would take hours and hours though so I need to spread it out over a few weeks.

fourthirds you are okay with SmugMug. They have no restrictions in place.

I am senior as in ancient and I am still on a learning curve with this iPhone 4 which I got as a Christmas present. I have an iMac so it is nice to have compatibility at last!
I marvel at the picture quality of this camera and I have been trying to follow what you guys are doing, but a lot of it is 'rocket science' for me. For example here do I find Proboards and the App?
Currently, I have iPhoto which receives photo's from my iPhone and I am able to upload from iPhoto on my iMac to Photobucket, then I copy the img code it to the post on this forum. Its not hard to do, but a bit fiddly if the photo requires to be edited.
Posting photographs directly to WWF from my iPhone through the workflow app would be great, but I can't seem to find the App in question.

I was having problems uploading photos from my phone. I did start using photo bucket but Chip was having to sort my pics out, I have no clue what the problem was. Since Friday 8th I've had no problem uploading straight from my phone using the camera symbol.
