... isn't getting a whole lot of action. Will somebody buy a bunch of Panerai watches so we can get this going?

I don't think giveaways are the answer Chip, I think we need to get the word out that this place exists. I couldn't find it. Maybe someone who is Internet savvy could help promote it on the web or has an idea that would make it more visible to the public. There are a lot of watch forums out there but not many built better that this one. I don't know, suggestions?

Plus after the giveaway the people leave. I e seen it happen many times, premium members with no posts pay to get a chance to win a watch. I saw it on TRF all the time.

Non-members looking at this forum for the first time would be forgiven for thinking this is just another Rolex forum. If that's what it was started as then fair enough, but there are at least three dedicated Rolex forums I know of, one of which is a snobs paradise! LOL At the risk if getting offside with members, I would suggest that we have a few more watch brands on the forum. Even the Rolex forum doesn't have Tudor. Maybe this could be created as a separate section? Sometimes I get disappointed that threads are not long enough. Just a few comments like nice etc isn't enough IMO. This forum seems to have a good mix of members unlike one I can think of which started of a few years ago and has now attracted lots of new members that are quick to boast about what they own and even quicker to disparage perfectly good threads. Sorry, I just read this and realized its in the wrong place. Too much wine today

I'm on my phone away from home so I can't address all the points right now. I can tell you though that the main reason for the giveaway was not to attract new members but rather to reward the existing ones that offered to contribute. That's one of the reasons why I'm not announcing the give away all over the place and making it a sticky on each forum. Like I wrote in the benefactor FAQ, I am not looking for a profit and i would like to give back to you whatever is left over. I was going to cover the costs 100 percent out of pocket until kind hearted folks like yourself offered support, a support I am VERY grateful for. It constantly reminds me of how great you guys are and it pushes and motivates me to do better and better for you. As far as other forums are concerned, one has to thread lightly as it is a double edged sword. Forums with no posts in it give the appearance of lack of activity to the whole site. Point in case is this very forum. I was asked to create it so I did, but it has no activity. I'm open to new ideas. This forum is for you and I will always do my best to take your input into consideration. If you think a Tudor forum is needed, we can try it. I just don't think that at this moment we have enough Tudor owners to fill it up with posts. Wrote this from my iPhone so excuse the mistakes, if any.

LIke I said Chip I think that once this site gets promoted then we'll see more attention. Nobody knows it exists! As I said before if it wasn't for Roscoe's email sending me spam I would have never known. Now, if you look at the forums that are already established you can see that they have a lot of members but only a handful contribute, even monsters like TRF only have a core that posts. Hop on over to TKF and you'll find the same thing, that coupled with a business atmosphere with the introduction of a sponsor may have helped the forum but that depends on how you look at it, VRF the same thing, a handfull of folks posting. Other watch forums I am unable to comment on but I'm sure you'll find the same thing, large membership low posts on most. So, how do we get more traffic, good quality traffic? Banners on other sites would help, along with better placement on Google sure would help, if we need to pass the hat again then we do it, we do what we have to do I imagine to keep this place going. Thoughts?

I am an absolute novice at anything Internet.
Even getting the forum where it is today was a major challenge for me. I'm just not knowledgeable enough in that area.
I can research and figure out some ways.
Banner exchange would be a good way I think.
