As I glanced at my Speedy today at work, I was trying to understand why I like it so much: It's not blingy at all. I do like just a bit of the bling. The dial is matt black, and I really prefer polished. It's a chronograph, which is really not my thing. It's a bit too large for what I normally prefer. Sometimes, it's hard to wind in the morning, and sometimes easier. The crown is too narrow. The clasp on the bracelet never seems to click shut properly, although it has never snapped open. I really prefer the newer bracelet, with the screw and pin system. I never really paid much attention to the Speedy over the years, until suddenly last year I had to have one. I even sold my Calibre de Cartier, which cost over 3 grand more, and which I lost most of in the transaction. Matter of fact, I bought the Calibre de Cartier for the first time on credit, although it was a great no interest plan over 20 months, so I would rather use the money for something else and pay no interest. And the Calibre de Cartier is being worn by someone else now, is not yet paid off, and I am wearing the Speedy. And I love it!!! And, I am still glad that I did that whole thing and got it! Anway, I decided to take my camera with me to work, and took a few shots there and on the way home. Here are a couple, and the rest I will put in my Gallery: I love the hesalite crystal, and the way it's domed, and how it catches the light: Well, there doesn't need to be any justification. And I feel like I have had this watch forever. Cheers Carl

I like the fact that it flies under the radar and it doesn't shout " I am expensive".
It's more of a watch for those in the know. Watch, not jewellery.

Plexi is sexy (or in this case Hesalite is Hot)! No doubt about it either way...

To me it's a simple and easy watch to wear. I prefer wearing my speedy over the Submariner anytime but I do find my Air King more comfortable to wear becuae it's a 34mm.

I love the way that plexiglass, acrylic, hesalite distorts the dial/features on the underside

Those are some great shots, Carl. My hesalite crystal needs polishing, but I'm afraid to do it.

Those are some great shots, Carl. My hesalite crystal needs polishing, but I'm afraid to do it. Same here. I think that for me to do a polish, it would almost have to wait until the scratches started to affect the readability of the dial! I wear mine to work daily. Doing production work in a print shop. My hands are in and out of machinery all day, packaging and unpackaging paper and printed materials as well. I'm amazed the watch still looks as good as it does. Cheers Carl
