I absolutely LOVE Rolex commercials and as we all know they're marketing geniuses. After looking through a bunch of them on YouTube these two are my favourites. They combine all of my passions, cars / racing and of course the watches! The music is so attention grabbing. A local Rolex retailer will run the ads on TV here sometimes during various events and then show their info at the end. As soon as that music comes on I drop what I'm doing and see what watch the commercial is about For some reason that slogan they used "A crown for every achievement" stuck with me and makes me remember how big of an achievement it was to FINALLY own one of these after so many years of dreaming. Makes me want to go out and do it all over again What are your favourite Rolex commercials?

I tend to like the ones without the big name stars in them. They highlight people who are not household names or sports that don't get the airtime that top golf and tennis players do.
I like this one. Instead of marking a person going down in the record books, it focused on the possibilities for the future right after the guy took the #1 ranking from Woods in 2011. He's ranked 90th now, but Rolex took a chance which is something they don't seem to do very often.
Here's another highlighting equestrians.
And a pianist...

So true, Roger. I also think it's nice for a change to see companies like Rolex use people who are not A list celebrities or very well known athletes. Focusing more on the watch itself and the over all achievement seems refreshing. It reminds me of the old GMT Master II commercial:
And better yet, the Submariner commercial that did not even have a person in it:

Thinking about this a little more, I really think I prefer it when they skip the high profile people and either focus on the lesser know folks like I showed above or even better, focus on the design aspects of their watches like you showed above and like Omega does.

I got excited when Rolex became the Official Timer for F1. I record most of the races as they're not time zone friendly for me. With the 12th race of the year coming up this weekend in Italy, when the Rolex ads appear, I just blaze through them with the FF control and get back to the race. I'm not committing a crime am I?!?

Thinking about this a little more, I really think I prefer it when they skip the high profile people and either focus on the lesser know folks like I showed above or even better, focus on the design aspects of their watches like you showed above and like Omega does. That's a very nice ad and focusing on technical specs is perfect. Omega is an amazing company that seems to be gaining popularity because of the great designs and fantastic history. The sad reality we must face though is the average Rolex owner (or purchaser) is not like us WIS's on the forum. Most who buy them get it because "It's a Rolex" and have little to knowledge of the history, the collectors market and resale value. Pretty much folks who see it, like it, want it and get it. Not to say this is not the case for any similar Veblen goods, which would explain the constant price increases across the entire watch market. Long story short, I rather see commercials like the Omega one above or the Submariner ad (even the one with the regular guy who celebrated the fact he learned something new) vs seeing Roger Federer (whom I have nothing against) swing a racket. I guess different things inspire different people because the racing ones really speak to me. Funny thing is I for no reason was on eBay today looking at Daytona's to see what the prices were like etc and that's not typical of me. You know I have pretty much always been about the dive watches or GMT's I got excited when Rolex became the Official Timer for F1. I record most of the races as they're not time zone friendly for me. With the 12th race of the year coming up this weekend in Italy, when the Rolex ads appear, I just blaze through them with the FF control and get back to the race. I'm not committing a crime am I?!? That's the thing I hate most, the timezone differences make it tougher to follow Not to mention in Canada other than some of the sports channels here the main place to watch racing is the Speed channel and they seem to hardly show anything other than real drag racing or pinks. I missed the entire season and it sucks because next year supposedly is the year they switch to lower displacement engines etc and go "green". Even though the commercials are cool to watch online when bored or willing to view watch content there's no way I would have it digitally recorded and sit through them during something like an F1 race!
