I used to have the Chrono Avenger, the slightly larger titanium cousin of the one in your photo.
Like most Breitling watches, absolutely bullet proof. The 7750 inside had been reworked by Breitling Chronometrie and has no problem running at least as good or better than the COSC certificate would suggest.
I chose the Avenger simply because I can't do polished watches unless they are the small, dress type. They just look dumb on me. Even the PCLs on a Rolex look bad on me for some reason.
If you like the polished look, the watch is solid and will last a long long time.

I'd own that one but I would have to pay to have the whole thing brushed.

Totally know what you mean regarding the polished steel. It can be nice and shiny but every single mark shows to the point where it annoys me. I have a polished bracelet on that Raymond Weil and discovered this the hard way. I love the fact this watch has those complications and is nice and big. Also, they can be had for a very good price pre owned.
That's the Pro II bracelet, right? I wonder what it would look like brushed .

It would look great. The non chrono was available in brushed finish and so was the steel fish. Both used the same bracelet.
I bought a new steelfish long ago but flipped it when the PO came out.

What are your thoughts on possibly getting the anti reflective coating removed (I believe this is possible)? My Fortis B-42 Cosmonaut from back in the day had this. It was neat at first with the way the colours looked in various angles in certain lighting. The one thing I did not like about having it on both sides is how it showed some marks after a while.

I know it is possible but I have never tried it.
To be honest, I thought about taking it off my AT Chrono. The top coat shows some tiny hairline scratches and it drives me nuts.

I think a cape cod will do it, not for sure though.

I know it is possible but I have never tried it. To be honest, I thought about taking it off my AT Chrono. The top coat shows some tiny hairline scratches and it drives me nuts. It's good to see I'm not alone on that. Here is an old picture showing the Fortis and Omega together. On the Fortis you can spot some of the many hairline scratches and spots you also mention. I liked how it looks sort of pearly and blueish purple sometimes but it's not worth those ANNOYING scratches: I think a cape cod will do it, not for sure though. I would so want to tape up the bezel and try that when ever I get another watch that has this coating on the outside. The whole point of sapphire for me anyway would be the scratch resistant properties. If I recall correctly the only thing that can scratch it would be a diamond? I can swear a watchmaker from Rolex Canada said this to me on the phone before. Any idea how easily it actually comes off with one of those?
