As the title says, lets see the most interactive of all the watches we have. To kick off here is my present collection (The Omega pocket watch should arrive Wednesday) as well as a close up of the vintage Sekonda's dial with the unusual USSR script. Also, peeking in though its not mine (sadly) is a wrist shot on me of Carls beautiful new Archer watch!

Thanks Roger. You can see I have a thing about Gold tone watches. I know one day a solid gold one will be an addition, hopefully vintage. The Sekonda has a nice story about it. When I reached my 18th birthday my mum gave me this Sekonda, well, not this exact one but the same model and identical in every way. Notice it says USSR and not CCCP. These Sekonda's were made for export, mainly to the UK which was a huge market for them. The movement in this one comes from the Poljot #1 factory in Moscow.
Any how. I wore that watch for years, well into the quartz revolution but eventually it stopped and a service could not be done as there were no parts for it so, sadly away it went. Forward a couple of years ago and I am perusing ebay and think to myself how nice it would be to get a Sekonda to remind me of mum. Well, low and behold there was a fellow selling vintage Sekonda's in the Ukraine and there was my old watch so I jumped on it!
It keeps great time and as you say, the dial is lovely. Whenever I am missing mum I strap it on. The third of next month is the twentieth anniversary of her passing so it will be worn with pride that day!

The only manual wind watch I have is my great-grandfather's Elgin pocket watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Roger, you posted this just as I was typing my last post. What a wonderful pocket watch and to have the family history behind it makes it priceless. I love the slow tick of pocket watches. My mum was a nurse all her working life and had one of those pin on watches with a slow beat mechanical movement such as in your watch. If I could not sleep at night she used to put it under my pillow and sure as eggs are eggs it would soon have me off to sleep!

Silly me, I forgot the Bulova. I have had it in my draw as it has not been working well so today I had a poke around and cleaned the dial a little so we shall see if I have done it any good!

Carl, you know how enamoured i am with the Archer, Urtossen, that pilot watch is wonderful and Darren,Oh my what a beautiful collection of Waltham's you have! I especially love the dial on the first one. There is a vintage watch seller here in Canada who has a wrist watch with an almost identical dial Waltham Trench watch for sale, its the second one down on this link! www.darlor-watch.com/home_4.htmlAnd the Accurist and Sekonda bring back many happy memories ( I am British)! Doing this I totally forgot my Cartier! I will post a picture later.
