It looks really great. First time I've seen a classic dj worn on right wrist.

Why is the 4 marker labeled as IIII instead of IV? Is it to visually balance with the VIII

Why is the 4 marker labeled as IIII instead of IV? Is it to visually balance with the VIII Yes, I have seen this come up many times on forums. While I have never seen anything official on it, the general consensus seems to be that it was a symmetry decision.

That's what I read as well the IIII balances the dial better against the VIII as opposed to IV vs VIII. Personally I think it should be IV but most use the IIII. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ianmedium there is no paint on the Romans. I believe they are applied white gold. The dial is rhodium with sunburst pattern.

Shadows on the Romans since they are applied.
The hands have an indentation running down the middle and that generates the black shadow.
It's silver on silver all around and nothing else. No black no nothing. The most monochromatic watch I have ever owned.

I just looked more closely and it looks like the Romans have the same crease down the middle but no paint. It's all shadows. Here is a close up, best I can do with my iPhone. Attachments:

I personally love the fact that it has no lume! I'm surprised that isn't the first thing I noticed. Must have a closer look into the DJ!
It took me forever to find my Seamaster vintage with no lume, and I love it! To be honest, there are some vintage pieces that look amazing when the lume has aged. And there are some that look absolutely hideous. No lume, no problem!
I really do like the applied Romans.
Cheers, Carl

Wow Chip, thanks for that. All this time I thought it was black paint or enamel in the middle of those. I have seen the same on YG day dates. Amazing to think they can cut it so sharp to create such defined shadows. Amazing! Oh and the Rhodium dial I have seen in the flesh, it is amazing how it catches the light so wonderfully
