I am a fan of Timex. My very first watch was a manual wind Timex that I got for being a paige boy at my Brothers wedding (he is much older than me!) back in the mid 1970's I have a Stainless Easy Reader date on a black leather strap but have wanted the gold version with the Railroad dial (red 24 markers inside of the black numbers) with the day and date and gold expansion bracelet. Retail is $55 but I managed to get a new one sans box but with instructions and brand new for $27 from a US eBay seller. There is something about these Easy Reader watches that just gets to me. And hey, if Mr King of cool Leonard Cohen wears one they can't be bad! Here is a picture I grabbed off the net. Hey, I know its not a Patek but does a Patek have indigo??

You are inspiring me. Are you kidding? This watch is amazing.
I'm on the hunt starting tomorrow morning for these special types of pieces.
Thank you

I tell you Ranuka. I have as much fun with the most humblest of watches as I do my more expensive ones. I think they all play a roll and they all have a point. Especially as with Timex or Rolex or your wonderful AP, these are real, proper watch companies with true horological history and relevance. And you know, on these dark winters nights the indiglo feature is so useful.
Having said that, in a heart beat I would have your AP if I could afford one, simply stunningly good watches, I bet you can't stop looking at it!

Ian, Timex has their place in horological history and I bet if there was a poll 90% of us have owned and loved one at some time. That's a seriously cool throwback watch and I love it. Is that one of the stretch bracelets? I remember then and in an odd sort of way miss them. They totally scream 70s!

The Indiglo is probably the best source of night light there is, and it will never wear out. Looks fantastic!
Cheers, Carl

I have one that came with my SS Easy Reader, one of the best stretch bracelets out there as it does not pinch or pull hair! It really is a throw back to those days. Just a good honest watch I think. I reckon every collection should have a Timex or Two in it somewhere. As you say, they have their place in horological history. And that indiglo, I think the only thing that comes close is my Nixie watch! Oh and the Timex has a ten year battery life and if the accuracy of my SS model is anything to go by the only time you need to adjust the thing is when the clocks go back or forward!

Looking forward to drooling over that lume shot and getting a strong flashback to my youth! Loved my Indiglo and honestly didn't know they were made anymore.

Love it Ian, great piece for any collection. 1 thing that makes this forum so good is the different pieces we all own & the great response we get back weather it's a £15000 or £100 piece. Just a place for like minded watch lovers
