I saw one of these this evening and was blown away by how nice it was. The owner told me it's mechanical and he absolutely loves it. The Orient EM65009D seems like it's on my radar for a good mechanical. Here are some pictures I found on Google: From - watchuseek.com From - watchuseek.com From - orientusa's YouTube video From - uhrforum.de From - watchuseek.com From - discountwatchstore.com From - eBay.com From - eBay.com From - uhrforum.de From - cda.chronomania.net From - picstopin.com My frugal will eventually be either one of these or a nice Seiko. I'm a big fan of the Seiko brand which makes it tough but apparently Seiko owns Orient from what I was told. The watch looks great but the pictures do no justice. It stood out to me, big time. I would so use it for just about anything!

Oh, that is really nice! I love the blue dial and love it on the NATO! What do they go for?

Wow, under $200 thats a steal. I have had two watches arrive this past week over that and did not get dinged with customs, thats a lot of watch for the price!

I paid more than that back in the day for those Citizens. Mechanical day date watch with a look like that. I'm trying to find pictures of it on a rubber strap too.

I see the seller includes the customs fee so it would come out to just under $200 all in shipped to Canada. You don't have any relatives or friends just across the border do you?

None close by like in Buffalo or anything. New York City, New Jersey and Orlando Florida. I'm going to look around some more to find out where in the city possibly has them. It would be cool to have a dive watch like that.

Rommel, Check this video out of the manufacture of Orient watches. Very impressed with the level of hand involvement in the building up of the movement. There is more hand assembly than in the video of the Panerai!

Wow! I'm blown away by this, unexpectedly too. I LOVE Seiko but after looking at their offerings currently this seems to appeal to me more. That would be my ideal watch to take diving. Again, if I saw just the pictures it would be no different but words can't describe it's striking appearance accurately. I always wanted a nice watch in a lower price range to wear places that the Rolex may stand out too much. Quartz is out of the question because the Raymond Weil I have already is, but the second hand moves like an automatic when the chronograph is engaged.

I really like the looks and build quality of that as well! If you can get one for that price, it is a steal indeed!
On the other hand, if you can afford to pay a few hundred more, there is the Orange that Katgirl got. She got the upgraded movement, but the other one according to Ian is a great movement as well, and a few hundred cheaper. The Orange, I feel, is a simpler design, definitely more vintage.
Just a suggestion...
Cheers, Carl

Just took a look at that video in HD! Wow! You know, I am really starting to see why you are excited about this watch. The blue dial is gorgeous. And nice that they have an orange dial as well.
How could you go wrong?!

Just a suggestion... Cheers, Carl Oh man, I love that watch Kat got! It looks incredible... Since it will only be a backup watch or for certain days I'm in no rush to pull the trigger on one. I already have my G-Shock that sits here so it can charge off the sunlight as it only gets used once a week at the pool. Not to mention my Raymond Weil has been in my safe for over a year now just sitting there. I'm quite the one watch man :)I've always wanted a nice Seiko or something like it. An automatic diver that's in a price range where I can be a bit tougher on it and not have so much as an after thought. Just took a look at that video in HD! Wow! You know, I am really starting to see why you are excited about this watch. The blue dial is gorgeous. And nice that they have an orange dial as well. How could you go wrong?! It certainly is nice! I wish you could have seen it in person. Looking at all of that again the pictures alone never could have convinced me the same way. It looked out of this world! There's so many options I'm considering.
