I don't like the polished links! After my soul being stirred by a few Omega pieces this past weekend this one does not do the same for me I am afraid. It looks a little too contrived to my eyes

I don't mind the fake patina but I cannot deal with polished links. If I was to ever have one, I would immediately brush those. I would do the same with a Daytona or GMT Master.

I think as well if they are going for the vintage look with the lume they should have continued that with the numbers as well.
I must say after the Patek's, Longines, Tudors and exceptional performance from Rolex at this years Basel this is a bit oh hum from Omega!

I would rather have a NOS Watchco one, than that. It does look too contrived, and the refined bracelet and case makes it lose it's tool watch appeal. Just O.K. for me, and I am an Omega fan.

I'm going to go against the grain here. I love it, love the retro styling, would prefer not to have the polished links but could very easily live with it.

Kat Kat, I searched Watchco but could only find a retailer doing general watches, can you post the link please?

Got to say I like it. I'm not a fan of the polished centre links but after a couple of outings on my wrist it would be more of the scratched look links.

Apparently Watchco Australia has nothing at all for sale on Ebay right now, and their regular online site is down, also. Not sure what that means..... www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-OMEGA-DIVER-SEAMASTER-300-165-024-AUTO-STAINLESS-STEEL-MENS-WATCH-/281293246110?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item417e624e9eHere is one of their watches on ebay. Watchco, in Australia, used to be an authorized service center for Omega in Australia, and started building them from NOS parts, after they lost their authorized repair, facility status several years ago. I don't know if they have any left, but they show up, preowned,on Ebay regularly. Also, I believe Roger owns one, that he had Al Archer put together for him, from NOS parts. Kat

I am assembling a SM300 from new parts probably once a month - they are quite popular. If someone can supply the movement (I don't have time to search for them on eBay) then I can supply the rest of the parts directly from Omega. Watchco tended to call these watches made from "NOS" parts, but that's not really the case - the parts are still being made and are readily available from Omega. So not new old stock, just new.
Cheers, Al

Oh, and I love the new Omega - it is one of the very few new watches they have come out with that I actually might consider buying. I prefer it to any of the newer Rolex models that have come out, but that's just me. If they had made the bezel just a touch thinner I would have liked it more though.
Cheers, Al

I like it, but I'd rather have the original. This new one needs a date, too.
