For Kat and us other detail nerds! Whilst searching as to the official supplier of NATO's to the MOD I found this fascinating PDF from the MOD laying out the requirements for supplying a certified watch Strap to the British Armed Forces.. Being the Nerd I am I found it fascinating! Kat, your right, Admiralty grey is the colour and seems to be the only official colour specified! www.h-spot.net/watches/mod/watchstraps_2001.pdfGood searching Ian, perhaps you could measure the width please, in the specs from the pamphlet you referenced it was 20mm, IIRC I measured it once and it was 17 or 18mm, I am attending a course at the other end of the country (Aldershot) so can't lay my hands on one till late next week, I would also be able to look up on the army stores system from the NATO stock number that I have to get a up to date description and manufacturer details. Hope that will help. I forgot all about chasing this up on the computer at work so have rectified that. Would you believe it? It doesn't confirm the manufacturer, look at the price though , £1.83. They come in bags of 20, D of Q means denomination of quantity which is each, some things the D of Q is BG (bag) so in this case if the D of Q was BG the Qty would read as 1. I have probably made that as clear as mud.

Thanks so much Dave, typical pencil pushers, give everything apart from the information on really needs! The price though, hmm, I think you should start selling them on eBay, you could retire in a year! Looking at at that sheet you can see it was thought up by someone with not enough to do in Whitehall eh! thanks so much for looking it up Dave and again, thank you for the kindness of sending me them, I really appreciate it!
