Hopefully this is going to work! This is the PDF that every new owner of an Archer watch gets with his or her watch. It is a fascinating step by step insight into the detail and care that Al puts into building his watches. I want to Thank Al for reducing the size of the PDF so that hopefully it can attach and you can read it. In doing so the images are not as sharp as on the PDF that comes with the watch but they are pretty good none the less I think. As most of you know I purchased mine from Carl so this document is in his name and he has kindly given permission to share it so thanks Carl and Al! Archer Sterling.pdf (2.86 MB) I hope you all enjoy this. It really is fascinating and a great insight into the skill and care Al puts into his watches!

That's got to be the best customer relation strategy I've ever seen and something the large companies simply can't do. Reading through that and viewing the images was a blast. Al does such a good job of putting those types of things together for the forums or customers. Having this personalized for each customer is what takes it to the next level. What you should do is have the PDF file printed out on some quality paper similar to that used in watch catalogs. Take that a step further and have it laminated and this way you have a hard copy to enjoy as you admire your collection and this fine watch.

Love it. I've always loved seeing the process in the stepwise fashion that he takes during service. It's amazing he takes the time to do it for every service. I'm most happy to the one he did for my great grandfather's Elgin.

Outstanding. My boss bought a watch from Archer and he received a similar document. I bought one too a few years ago but it got sold...

Hopefully you end up with another one in the future, Chip. What I like most is the exclusivity of this. So many watches are a dime a dozen but this level of interaction with the manufacturer is like none other.

Thanks for making the effort, Ian and Al, to post this on the forums! I don't know of any other instance, other than when buying a timepiece from Al at Archer watches, when so much time and effort is spent. I'm sure folks will look at this thread again and again. Cheers Carl

Very fine work. It's like model building...but way more advanced and requires years of experience and skills.
