Vacheron Constantin sends me emails about new pieces and news every now and again. Today this info was sent to me and I felt it was worthy of being shared here:

In April 2014, for the fourth consecutive year, Vacheron Constantin recommits itself to the development of the European Artistic Crafts Days event, a unique occasion for the general public to discover talented modern artists and craftspeople who are too often unknown or overlooked. The Manufacture dedicates itself to Artistic Crafts by thrusting them face to face with the field of contemporary art through truly remarkable exhibitions in Paris, London, Milan and Geneva.



Vacheron Constantin offers a behind the scenes glimpse of the preparation of the photography exhibition featuring photographs shot by Tiziana and Gianni Baldizzone exploring the transmission of knowledge.



The exhibition in Milan, "Transmettre, Percosi di Sapere," will be held from April 1st to April 13th at the Pinacoteca di Brera.

Vacheron Constantin will present the extraordinary creations of English artist Bridget Bailey, which will be showcased during the London exhibition: "Crafted: Makers of the Exceptional," held from April 3rd to April 5th at the Royal Academy of Arts.

It's so refreshing to see how much care and hand crafting goes into these types of watches. I can't help but feel as if more and more WIS's in the future will pay the premium to own such pieces instead of 30- 40% less of the MSRP (in some cases only) to get more mass produced watches. Either way, there's certainly something special about the level of commitment to detail! Here are some images found on Google:

Thanks so much Rommel. I love it when companies such as VC support the arts, its so important I feel as this world would be a very bland place if it was devoid of beauty and every last thing came down to dollars and cents.

That comes as no surprise to me! This brand is likely one of if not the oldest out there, very exclusive and designs that are aesthetically pleasing. I think every WIS should aspire to some day owning a piece like this.

Not a problem, Ian! Watchmaking truly is an art form, the designs engraved on movements is proof of this in many cases. The mainstream brands are all about the $'s for sure, it's nice to see stuff focused on the designs and not just supplying the global demand.
