With many of the luxury watch companies packaging their watches in fancy boxes, some of them really big, I am wondering why nobody has offered their box with a built in winder?
Most boxes I have, Rolex excluded, are good looking and I would love it they all had a build in winder!

Good idea - makes sense, as an option, at least. Maybe $200 extra...

I think that would be great and they should all do it.

If they did that it would only put a few hundred more pounds/dollars on the prices. I'd bet 500+

I think some companies have done that in the past, but I could be wrong.

What a great idea. Why don't we develop a prototype winder insert, that would fit into most luxury watch brands inner boxes, patent it, and sell it to the big watch conglamorates for millions........ Yeah, I like it.......

Ulysse Nardin has some elaborate packaging for the higher end pieces like this: Image from Google This one though was not actually a box apparently but my guess is in the right price range of purchase the AD could give one away: Image from Google Image from Google I really like this idea and it brings back memories. The Maxi Marine Diver used to REALLY appeal to me: From - watchuseek.com

Holy cow, Rommel! THAT's what I call packaging.

I know, Ulysse Nardin swings for the fences in that sense. A few years back I used to love visiting their AD's and trying on various watches. Although in the same preowned price range as a good Omega (in-house) I'm still not convinced I'll ever end up with one (by choice). Even the regular boxes are for the watch I want are insane: From - 1stdibs.us.com From - tnsdiamonds.com From - watchuseek.com From - watchuseek.com From - watchuseek.com

I've always thought winders were overpriced for what they are; a relatively simple machine. Still I want one and would love it if they were included in the packaging.

Pffft, I don't really care about a fancy box that adds $500+ to the cost of buying the watch. Give me cardboard with the shiny veneer, a company logo, and a pillow inside that the watch sits on. I want the watch, not the box!
