Hi, I'm the new guy, so I just wanted to drop a quick greeting.
I collect affordables, Timex, Seiko, Invicta, Casio, and Orient, mostly, but I am now getting interested in vintage watches, mostly Sea Gull, Shanghai, and others that I can find on Ebay at reasonable prices.

Welcome to the form, Alden! A lot of us here are quite passionate about those brands too. I'm the proud owner of a Seiko Monster and an Orient: Something every collector should haveb You'll feel right at home!

Welcome Alden. I'd hazard to guess here that most of us own at least one Seiko. I also have a MIckey Mouse Timex, which I just learned a few days ago needs to have the movement worked on or replaced. The watchmaker estimated about $50-$70 and since I only paid about $75 for it, I'm torn, but I think I'll take it back to him and have him take a closer look and give me a firm cost. It's such a cool little watch that was made in the 70's, so I'd like to see it live on.

Welcome! I agree, never say never. We all have to start somewhere, and the longer it takes you to acquire it, the more you will treasure it.

Thanks guys. You seem like a nice bunch of fellas. I'm going to try and post a couple of photos here. Every forum is a little different in how this works. This is my favorite Seiko: Favorite Timex: And favorite Invicta: And this one... well, I don't have it yet. It's somewhere on a truck or in the air between where I am, and Singapore. It should be here around Thanksgiving.

Nice - love that Orient. The blued hands pop off the ivory dial. IIRC, another member here also owns one of those.

Very nice collection you have there! A few others on this forum have that Seiko. In my opinion it's one of their best divers watches to own. Like the fact that Timex is a chronograph. I'm gradually discovering more offerings from Orient. They make some fairly elegant pieces it seems.

It looks amazing in hand, like a much more expensive piece. I think it's one of the nicest watches they make. The Seiko -007 is a classic, IMHO... every watch collector should own one. Hell, every male baby should be given one when he's born, for that matter.
