They also have this in the Formula 1 series. And this one in the Aquaracer line, not a GMT but has some resemblance to the Polar Explorer

LOL thanks for pointing those out to me, Mark. Nicely styled (lol) and I like Tag but don't like designs from big brands like this that lack creativity. The vintage Tag's are without a doubt the best. Hopefully more of those get launched again. The more I browse watches the more I'm seeing there's nothing else out there of any desire to me really.

They are well priced and look good, considering the designs were adopted from Rolex color schemes.

For me, they do look not too bad There's a chance they could grow on me (minus the Formula one BLNR). I liked the idea of the red and blue bezel if it was ceramic but I've been hearing quality horror stories about Tag so likely wouldn't anyway.

What have you heard about the quality horror story? I have heard that their finishing is not as good as people thought.

I've heard (well read) about movement issues, bracelet issues, and crown issues that I can recall. These things can happen with anything but it was strange because for each case (one was mentioned today on TRF) it required multiple attempts by Tag to rectify the same issue. Probably wouldn't happen to mine but for something I don't truly need I wouldn't want it to stress me out of there was some sort of issue. I think carbon6 had some issues with his in the past as well.

Right. I have a Tag Link Automatic that went through several crown/tube replacements. I still have an issue with the crystal not positioned evenly from the last service at LVMH. I'll have a local watchmaker fix that next time.

I wouldn't say the movement issue is a necessarily a Tag Heuer problem. This issue seems to be with Selitta movements. I had a problem with a "crunchy" noise feeling while winding my Aquaracer and I believe Carl had a stem issue with his Oris Divers 65. Both fixed under warranty but it leaves a bit of a bad taste. My wife had to have the movement replaced in her TH Carrera. I'm not sure what movement is in the smaller models though.
I agree with about the styling, Heuer has a rich history. I don't see why they need to add the magnifier and other design cues that Rolex is known for...

I'll have a local watchmaker fix that next time. Wow, yeah I thought that was you who had this issue. When these companies like LVMH try to do too much this sort of thing seems to be inevitable. With Louis Vuitton I've had nothing but the best service imaginable ordering from them etc. However, with these watches it's starting to sound too much like a Swatch Group Ltd type deal and there's a good reason why I'll likely never own an Omega again (had 4 of them). Hopefully the independent watchmaker is able to rectify this situation for you. The guy on TRF was saying he bought one brand new and the bracelet broke twice per manufacturers defect... Both time Tag fixed it and the third time seems to be a charm. If I bought this and decided I didn't want it this would be a royal pain to flip and would be yet another bath taken. Have you ever looked into a factory service with them through LVMH? I wonder what they're charging to do a basic service (no additional parts needed) for these movements. I've got no issue spending $500 - $900 on a service IF it's on a high value piece ($10,000.00+). I've seen too many $2,500 CAD watches that cost amost $800 before taxes to have serviced and that's where I throw in the towel, just makes no sense. I do get that it's based on the labour etc but when they charge more than other well known brands (which was the case) it's where I draw the line. Ok, rant over lol. Thanks for sharing that with me though, Irwin. I wouldn't say the movement issue is a necessarily a Tag Heuer problem. This issue seems to be with Selitta movements. I don't see why they need to add the magnifier and other design cues that Rolex is known for... Wow, that's right, I remember reading on here some time back about carl and the Oris. The fact that both you and your wife had this or a similar issue with the watches scares me a bit. Reliability is key and it would be different if I had the watch already, only to discover these potential problems afterwards. It's actually sad when I look up discontinued vintage models they had, especially from like the '70's and '80's! For me I think a modern piece with updates in build quality would be best for my needs. The homage idea is alright to me IF it's not a big, well known brand essentially ripping off numerous designs from an even bigger brand. Maybe this is a good thing, serving as a reminder I'm very happy with what I've got and very few watches now appeal to me enough to actually consider purchasing. Thanks for sharing that story with me, Mark. It's nice to know these types of things before taking the next step and living the same frustrations yourself, Irwin, and I'm sure MANY others have.

Thanks for sharing that with me though, Irwin. It's been several years since they replaced the crown/tube. The TAG AD thought I was screwing the crown in too tight. Really? None of my other automatic watches have that problem. It's been fine ever since and keeps decent time. Might have just been a lemon.

That's all very good to know. It's almost like they cut corners in the quality aspect. Luckily if I did somehow go for this it would have to be a used watch so someone else can take the major loss. Seeing on in person first helps but based on pictures alone I'm not convinced.
The styling of the aforementioned watches seems like it would be more appealing when I was 19, just getting started with Swiss watches. That being said though, the fact that I've exhausted all options with brands like Omega has the watch freak in me browsing for potential adds to the collection. Anything purchased will be a setback in my 116610LN though.
