Seiko Prospex just announced an amazing new PADI special edition, this gorgeous SPB071. This watch is reminiscent of the hit SLA017, another reissue of the famous 62MAS dive watch. This new version, however, not only looks better (in our opinion), but is also far more affordable at $850.00 USD. The new model features a tough 6R15 movement instead of the more expensive SLA017’s 8L35. The steel case, which apparently receives a hard coating, is 42.6mm, but the most important element, of course, is this gorgeous new blue coin-edge bezel and dial. The dial is especially interesting, because, in addition to its wave pattern, it actually appears to have a gradual blue-to-black transition in the last third of the dial, which looks amazing. Like the PADI logo itself, it features red accents, more subtle on this model than most of Seiko’s PADI collaborations. Here we have red marks on the chapter ring and a red minute hand, but I think focusing on the blue here really works in its favor. This is one of the best looking Prospexes ever made. Details are still incoming about this watch, so I'll update this thread as I learn more! Read more or pre-order yours here!

I like that one, sans the accordion strap. That’s just something I can’t do.
On the right strap I think that’s great watch, and you’re getting a lot for your money.

I wish they put PADI on the caseback rather than on the dial too. Kind of clutters an otherwise gorgeous gradient wave dial.
Functionally the lume on the second hand should be on the tip too for timing a safety stop on a dive.

Like the watch, agree with the masses on the strap. I have a Pulsar with that strap and it gets more uncomfortable as time goes on. Can't wait to see it.
