My Rolex OP34 Silver Dial is back! Went downtown to retrieve it from Otto Friedl, the watchmaker where I left it on consignment a couple months ago. Along with my OP34 Green Dial. While the green dial version is gorgeous, my favorite is still the silver dial, which replicates in almost every detail my past Air-King. I agonized over my decision to sell it, and decided I might always regret it. I just have a feeling that Rolex may discontinue this dial or maybe revamp the OP collection even more. My Air-King was flipped back and forth so many times with Ian. When I finally decided that I wanted it back, it was gone. Don't want this to happen again! At least not for the time being . Knowing me as well as most of you do, I guess it wouldn't be a big surprise if I decide to sell it again at a moment's notice!! Cheers, Carl

Glad to see you bring that one home Karl. I know you’ve always enjoyed it. Out for a walk with bandit.

And it is impossible for me to have any regrets in selling the green dial version, as beautiful as it is. If it wasn't for the fact I sold it when I did, I would never have had the funds to get the Eterna KonTiki Bronze. Coincidentally, the sale of my Rolex and discovery of the Eterna happened within a week of each other. There is no doubt that the Eterna has, and will, give me more pleasure than the Rolex OP would have.

That Eterna is such a pedestrian piece, and I’m surprised you haven’t tired of it already and tried to force it on me! LOL With your flipping history I’m going out on a limb saying this, but I do think you’ve found a keeper with it.

I did hear a rumor from the local Eterna rep that there may be another bronze on the way. If that was the case, and it was just as nice as this one, but had a solid metal case back, I would likely go for that. I kind of don't think that will happen, though.
