per their FB... " Our website will Go ONLINE soon - www.deklawatches.com. We can offer our watches with a waiting period of up to one month. Unfortunately, we were not ready for such a demand and today we can build no more than 3 watches a working day, because our watchmaker is also involved in the production process of hands and dials." I think launch date target is this Monday unless their watchmaker is also their webmaster. Watch specs: Case: 42mm, lug to lug 51mm. Thickness 12mm. Sapphire crystal. 10 ATM. bead-blasted. In-hause made Hands: Our production, steel heated blued. Old Radium Superluminova Dial: Old radium, in-hause made Movement: ETA 2801 or ETA 2824, swiss made Price: 380 euros without german VAT

Breaking news. FIRST to know here on WWF. deklawatches.com Moderator, you may want to merge the Dekla thread from the Art of Time Forum with this. Or whatever. As developments unfolded it now seems this General Forum is more appropriate but of course your decision rules. I don't want to flood WWF with Dekla but it seems visitors would like to be aware of the official launch. Merged and moved for you. Wouldn't mind seeing one of these IRL.

Must say, impressed at this stage. Love how they do the lume, recessed into the dial like that. And the blued hands are wonderful. Bonus here, for me, is that at that price point you get a real robust ETA movement as well. What is the difference between ETA 2801 and 2824? Really, looks like very little to lose getting one of those. Size is perfect. Like Roger, would love to see one in real life. Mind you, at that price, not a lot of risk involved. Maybe I am naive/ignorant, but I can't help wonder how they do it at that price point? Note: I found out the difference between movements: one is automatic and the other manual wind. Duh!!

That pic in post [HASH]2 looks like a sandwich dial flieger. Not sure. Maybe there's one under development. Of course there's many fliegers to choose from but not at this apparent quality and price. I'll wait for future models. Just to note : "The original Flieger manufacturers — IWC, A. Lange und Söhne, Stowa, Laco, and Wempe." Some of their "watch cases after wire EDM." Whatever that is. And another angle. All are thread photos are theirs.

"Deep engraving" they call it. And soon, fyi, an option for 6S steel case will be offered.

This ambitious start-up is rolling out a new model with optional 6S steel. ETA 2824, sapphire, 42mm. Nice! Crown guards unexpected nice touch as well. ETA movement excellent. Not sure what 6S steel is, but will take a look at the website to check it out. Blog on Dekla website about characteristics of hardened 6S steel: deklawatches.com/en/6steelss-blogReally like this watch a lot. Very good to see it has a solid case back. Lovely engraving as well, I imagine like the models above with pic of case back.

Keep in mind Carl that if you're dealing directly with the manufacturer that they might be able to accommodate some custom requests. Such as a ETA 2801 hand wind installed on this model instead of the 2824, as an example. Or whatever you're interested in. Change the hands, or mix them, whatever. You can always ask prior to a purchase if you have some modification in mind. example only Well, I was thinking it would be better with a hand winding movement. Of course, then they would just leave the "Automatik" of the dial, I guess. Funny, I think of the Rolex Explorer a bit when I see this, I think that's why I am attracted. Likely the "3, 6, 9" and markers.

Really one of the new companies that is the most interesting IMO. I was reading also about their steel hardening process. An option for steel on the Turblenz model.
At one time, I was really considering getting a Laco. Unless you go for a quartz movement, seems like they are about twice the price. Just looking at the manufacture process of Dekla, it seems they would have the edge as well. Although I admittedly know little about Laco.
It will be interesting to see the future developments as well, especially if they are now somehow going with Dievas. I certainly, from what I see, am impressed with the Dievas you got, with the anonymous dial.
would be great to give Dekla at chance, one of the most interesting convincing and judging by their website, professional, newer watch companies I have seen. I love the new Turblenz, model, but I think the Pilot Type A is the one that most gets my interest, even though there are so many similar looking models out there.

The 42mm Laco Memmingen handwind ETA 2801 has a more historic accurate case with straighter lugs. Of course it would wear different too. The Dekla Turbulenz with the 6S steel case is competitive with Damasko, I'd say. The most recent release of the Dievas Vintage collection was the stylish 39mm Flieger (pictured) with 6S steel. Limited to 100 pcs. Drilled lugs and appealing black on black "Made in Germany" at 6. It quickly sold out. I believe all Dievas models were made in batches of around 100 pcs each.

New model I like CA dials but this is a strange mix of roman and arabic on top and bottom of the dial. It gives me a headache looking at it!
